The closer Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin meet, the more tense they become in Warsaw. Polish politicians from PO and PiS, who have been "pumping" a Ukrainian balloon for years, pretend that nothing has changed.
Their statements, at least these authoritative ones, would indicate a failure of self-preservation instinct or fear of admitting the failure of the full east policy. The fear can besides spread to them in my head that after years of herbing, insulting, provoking and judicing against Russia – abruptly Poland could be alone with her. Not yet, but the situation is dynamic. By the 18th century, we've been through this.
Examples of authoritative optimism separated from reality supply statements by 2 most crucial politicians in Poland – Donald Tusk and Andrzej Duda. "Investment in defence of Ukraine is helping Europe, helping Poland. That is why our efforts to strengthen defence capabilities Ukraine is not just an ad hoc action in relation to Russian aggression. This is besides a strategical action for the safety of Ukraine, Poland and the full West" - argues Tusk. "Poland remains at the forefront of military support donors for Ukraine. We have already handed over 45 military aid packages to her, and the 46th package is being implemented," she adds. And Andrzej Duda in Davos thunders: “No hasty decisions should be made here, and especially there cannot be any question of asking Vladimir Putin to sit at the negotiating table. Ukraine must be organization to these negotiations and all the conditions to be agreed must be de facto agreed by Ukraine, recognised by Ukraine." This nervousness indicates that it doesn't gotta be. Against this background, the opinion of Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz expressed in the programme Facts about Facts is like a bucket of cold water for a burning head:
“Russia will come out of this war devastated for a very long time, but with the warrant that Ukraine may never enter NATO. I don't think that can be arranged. The Americans are already talking about it. Putin wants it. We are witnessing negotiations in which it appears that we will not participate. Poland will not sit at the table. The president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski, although he will be part of the process, is not the most important.”
I'm certain it will. It is amazing that politicians in Poland do not draw any conclusions. respective times already they were dismissed from the most crucial talks concerning Ukraine, to mention only Minsk negotiations, erstwhile Kiev Poland was not allowed to negotiate. Why would it be any different now? The greats of this planet have never taken us seriously due to the fact that we do not take ourselves seriously. Tusk's pouring slop on Viktor Orban is simply a sign of frustration. due to the fact that Hungary, a country 4 times smaller than Poland, has more influence on global policy than on the strengthening muscles of Poland.
