The territory Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk on 11 June 2026 reported allegations for 9 members of the Circuit Election Commission No. 17 after the second circular of the presidential election of 1 June 2025. The incorrect protocol overestimated the consequence of Karol Nawrocki and underestimated the consequence of Rafał Trzaskowski. The investigation is ongoing and the fishy is facing 2 years in prison.
Gdański protocol reversed the consequence in the circuit
Communication from the Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk describes a serious error. The minutes of Commission No. 17 evidence 585 votes for Karol Nawrocki and 346 votes for Rafał Trzaskowski. After checking the cards, the actual score was 343 and 583 votes respectively. So the local winner was wrong.
Investigators found that the members of the committee had not verified the data entered into the State Election Commission strategy or the correctness of the minutes drawn up. The proceedings began on 26 June 2025. The Public Prosecutor's Office does not describe intentional action. The charges relate to unintentional failure to fulfil obligations.
Election night started with an exit poll giving a tiny advantage to Rafał Trzaskowski, but the election of the president is decided by the correct counting of the cards alternatively than the examination of the opinion. That is why specified a gross mistake of the committee must be resolved to the end, regardless of which candidate he has harmed in a given circuit.
Nine suspects, investigation continues.
The charges under Article 231 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code were heard by 9 members of the committee. Most suspects confessed to the alleged act and provided explanations. Irregularities did not change the validity of the elections
The Gdańsk case was part of a wider review of the committee after the second round. By updated data of the National Public Prosecutor's Office In 250 circuit studies, Karol Nawrocki received 1239 votes little and Rafał Trzaskowski received 1,242 votes more than the authoritative protocols. This data must not be extended to all 32 143 circuits without evidence. However, they show that quality control of the counting was needed.
The authoritative PKW protocol indicated 10 606 877 votes for Karol Nawrocki and 10 237 286 votes for Rafał Trzaskowski. The difference was 369,591 votes. The ultimate Court declared the validity of the election of Karol Nawrocki, having respect to the fact that the deficiencies found, separately or collectively, did not give emergence to a contest.
The ultimate Court resolution closed the dispute over the validity of the election, but did not exempt the authorities from the work to clarify the circumstantial infringements. Each vote is an expression of the citizen's free decision. Its misallocation violates trust in the Republic, even if it does not change the consequence on a national scale.
Poland needs bug-proof committees
The credibility of a sovereign state is at stake. Poles must be certain that their voice will be counted correctly, recorded and checked. Clear double-check procedures, better committee training and control of protocols are needed before data are validated in the system.
You can't underestimate proven mistakes. Nor can they build theories about falsifying full elections without evidence. The strong state is not afraid of control and does not sweep errors under the carpet. It fixes procedures, establishes work according to the law and protects the nation's decision from organization manipulation.
