Poland's decision to support the resolution on Palestine's membership at the UN sparked the reaction of Israeli ambassador Jaakov Liwne, who called it incorrect and harmful to security, stableness and Poland.
Poland joined the majority by voting in favour of a resolution which confirms Palestine's right to self-determination and qualifies it for membership of the United Nations in accordance with Article 4 of the Charter of the United Nations. In the vote, 143 states expressed their support for the resolution, 9 against and 25 abstained.
Among another things, Israel, the United States, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Argentina were against the resolution. Poland, according to the MFA communication, joined the majority and supported the resolution with 142 another countries. This is simply a clear position on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which could have far-reaching diplomatic consequences.
"Our way of voting is due, among others, to Poland's designation of the Declaration of independency of 1988 and is consistent with its current position on self-determination and statehood," the Polish MFA stated in a communication on social media.

On the X platform, Jaakow Plaine, Israel's ambassador to Poland, released a comment on the results of the vote, publishing an entry in English.
"Poland supporting Palestine's membership of the UN after the 7.10 massacre [7 X 2023 – ed.] is: 1. A dangerous precedent for aggressor award. 2. Continuation of the anti-Western 1988 decision chaired by the Soviets to recognise the “Palestinian State”. 3. Rewarding Iran and Hamas against the U.S. and Israel positions. 4. Complete violation of the UN Charter for political purposes. This decision is incorrect and harmful to security, stableness and Poland," wrote the Ambassador.

The line besides released a video of Israel's Ambassador to the UN throwing papers with the inscription “United Nations Charter” into the shredder.
“You are destroying the United Nations Charter with your own hands. Yeah, that's what you do. Shame on you," said the Israeli diplomat. The vote besides officially criticized Israel’s MFA.

In April, Israel's terrorist ambassador to Poland, Jaakow Liwne, refused to apologize on behalf of Israeli armed forces for the death of a Polish volunteer in the Gaza Strip. In his interview with TVP Info, he argued that Poland is struggling with "the increasing anti-Semitic moods".
Liwne previously stated: “The utmost right and left in Poland accuse Israel of deliberately murdering in yesterday’s attack, resulting in the death of members of a humanitarian organization, including a Polish citizen. Deputy talker of the Sejm and Confederate leader Krzysztof Bosak says Israel commits “war crimes” and terrorizes humanitarian organizations to starve Palestinians. It was the same Bosak who inactive refused to condemn the massacre of Hamas on October 7, and whose partymate, right-wing extremist, put out the Chanukov Menor fire extinguisher, which we lit in Parliament in Warsaw.
