The Presidents of Russia and the US, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, held a telephone call on Monday, including on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. According to the Russian leader, the conversation lasted over 2 hours. The Russian president besides said that Russia was ready to work with the Ukrainian side on a memorandum on a possible future peace treaty. Trump, on the another hand, said after the conversation that he would not impose fresh sanctions on Russia as there was a chance to settle the conflict in Ukraine.
After the talks Trump spoke to the president of France, the Prime Minister of Italy, the Chancellor of Germany, the president of Finland, the Head of the European Commission and Vladimir Zelenski. The American president said that he informed Zelenski and any NATO partner countries leaders about the results of his conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin and that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine begin immediately.
