On May 28, we celebrated the 44th anniversary of death, and at the same time the memory in the Catholic Church of Blessed Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński – the unbreakable Primate of Poland, who in the darkest communist times did not let the actual Nation of Poland to lose religion of the Fathers and sale the soul to the Devil, Marxist materialism.
Prior to the outbreak of planet War II, Fr Wyszyński studied communist ideology as the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Atheneum Kapłański” and knew how large a threat to man. He understood that Marxist followers could not be made concessions because, as shortly as they found the opportunity, they would destruct the church completely, as they managed to do, for example, in the Czech Republic. The Primate was able to conduct a realistic policy and had to lead it as an interrex of the nation in opposition to the treacherous authorities of the People's Poland. He could go on harmless compromises and keep the vitality of Ecclesia, but at the time of the assassination of the throne on the altar to say, “Non possumus!”. He paid for this internment from 1953 to 1956, but came out victorious on it, but not without the heroic aid of the large martyr Archbishop Antoni Baraniak, who despite the inhuman torture on Rakowiecka, was not broken and did not betray Primate. And it was Fr Wyszyński, during his stay at the exile in Prudnik, who invented and later wrote the Jasna Góra Vows of the Nation. He then began the spiritual offensive of the large Novena from 3 May 1957 and peregrination of the image of Our woman of Jasna Góra after all the parishes of Poland. It was so powerful that Gomulka ordered the arrest of the painting, but the solution was there – the frame itself drove. Thus, for 9 years Poles prepared for the large anniversary of the 1000th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland, which overshadowed the state celebrations. It was of large importance due to the fact that he said:
“If they come to destruct this Nation, they will begin with the Church due to the fact that the Church is the strength of this nation.”
Blessed Stefan full understood national politics and health, Polish nationalism based on Catholic faith, putting God first than the nation. To keep tradition, he allowed all the folk spiritual customs that survived until present like May services. These customs built a community, connected Polishness with Catholicism. He replaced Roman Dmowski during the time of the People's Poland from the time of partitions, but besides the Second Republic erstwhile he held the "government of souls". It was the Primate who took over this baton and explained to the believers what the love of the homeland, the nation and the basis of our civilization is: truth, household or holiness of life. Dmowski raised up identity among peasantry, and Wyszyński did not let it to be lost among workers, despite strong communist indoctrination. The Cardinal stressed:
“The Church ... must be present in the hard situations of the Nation, even though he believes that this is not his own task, but a substitute. He must hold his hand to the beating pulse of the life of the Nation and see that his life is inactive Christ's and evangelical in order to be able to overcome difficulties. For the nation does not end. From political sociology we know that the most durable institution in social life is household and nation, let us add from our experiences – Church. Hence our hopes, our balance and peace."
To this day, all communists or their descendants to the idea, must not forget his conflict for well understood motherhood and opposition to abortion. It is his main merit, and later St John Paul II, that in the 3rd Republic abortion was never legal and is now only allowed in 2 conditions. Last year a book was even published from the stables of Political Critics, whose author emphasizes that only due to the fact that Poles cannot legally kill their children through the activities of these prominent shepherds of the Polish Catholic Church.
It's not going to be an exaggeration erstwhile I compose that if it wasn't for a mistake.
