Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 30.01.2026):
- Strong Russian drone strikes and attacks — in the Zaporozh region, the Russian drone attack killed at least 3 people and another 3 were injured; housing and infrastructure buildings were destroyed. akin events took place in Odessa, where large fires were caused on industrial premises. Ukrainian air defence forces have declared to shoot down most attacking drones.
- New, unsuccessful storms of the Russian villages of Berestok close Kostiantinivka. The confederate flank of the city is well defended.
- There are dense fights over the outskirts of the town of Kupansk-Wuzłowa, whose centre has been occupied by Russian troops for respective days.
- Ukrainian forces destroyed the Russian radar station 1L119 "Nebo-SFU" worth about US$100 million in the occupied area of Lugansk.
- The Russians occupied the border town of Bila Bereza in the Sumic region.
- Donald Trump announced that he was going to ask Vladimir Putin to halt the bombings for a week, especially in the Kiev area due to utmost frosts – Putin was going to agree to it (although the Kremlin had not yet officially confirmed it). This message was met with the reactions of Western leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski, both criticised Russia's further actions and highlighted the deficiency of a real ceasefire.
- Russian abroad Minister rejected the key component of the U.S.-Ukrainian peace proposal — safety guarantees for Ukraine. This puts the negotiations in Abu Dhabi in question.
The European Union is preparing a fresh tranche of sanctions against Russia and further financial and energy support for Ukraine.
Poland transferred the first batch of power generators to Kiev for support in the face of power supply interruptions.
- On the last day, another exchange of dead bodies took place — Russia returned the remains of about 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers, and Ukraine was handed over 38 bodies of Russian soldiers.
