The president of Ukraine announced that the United States is giving Russia and Ukraine a deadline until June 2026 to scope a peace agreement. The U.S. is reportedly proposing fresh trialogues (Ukraine–Russia–USA) that Ukraine plans to hold in Miami. These actions aim to increase force on both sides of the conflict, although key issues — peculiarly the position of Donbas — stay the subject of a heated dispute.
According to any sources of U.S. mediation, efforts are ongoing to scope an agreement even by March 2026, including proposals on possible choices or conditions of agreement of both parties. However, real obstacles, specified as Russia's territorial demands, hinder a breakthrough in negotiations.
