– He who abides in God, who is love and beauty supreme, abides in love and beauty despite his passing. What's more, his life keeps getting more and more penetrated by the beauty of goodness His heart – said Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski during the XXXII Pilgrimage of the Families of the Archdiocese of Krakow to Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. Hierarch stressed that household and matrimony are of large importance to the Church.
Referring to the subject of this year's Pilgrimage of the Families of the Archdiocese of Krakow to the Kalwaria Zebrzydowska "Mary, parent of Beautiful Love" Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski began the homily with a reflection on the peculiar relation of beauty and good, which already reaches to the thoughts of ancient Greek philosophers. Aristotle claimed that it was the highest of the virtues of a man that he could get by individual effort and exercise himself in the good. But, as the Kraków metropolitan, the full knowing of the link between beauty and good, we owe only to Christianity, which he calls God love. – If God is love in his essence, then he is the highest good and infinite beauty – said the archbishop, adding that Jesus Christ is the highest fulfillment of goodness and beauty in the world, which was most perfect in His mercy.
The Metropolitan besides noted the beauty of Mary. He noticed that the Calvary image of Our woman was painted in the kind of Eleusy – a tender parent hugging her cheek to her son's cheek. Referring to the subsequent biblical scenes – annunciation, hauntings, weddings in the Cana of Galilee, the death of Jesus on Golgoth, the exile of the Holy Spirit – the archbishop pointed out Mary as the highest example of beauty and goodness – “she showed herself how beautiful it is to love God, how beautiful it is to love another man, how beautiful it is to love the Church.” He pointed out that the Church's consequence to the beauty of Mary is simply a delight which can be found, among others, in Songs of Songs or countless images of Our woman of Calvary.
– He who abides in God, who is love and beauty supreme, abides in love and beauty despite his passing. What's more, his life keeps getting more and more penetrated by the beauty of goodness His hearts – pointed out the rule of Christian life Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski behind Saint John the Evangelist. And referring to St. Paul, he noted that thanks to the love that people environment others, they themselves become more and more beautiful.
The matrimony and household of Kraków metropolitans called sacred, beautiful and fundamental Christian institutions. In this context, he recalled 2 passages of the drama about marital love “In front of the jewelry store”, which was written by Bishop Karol Wojtyła. – As long as you love. As long as you love as you exist. Covering others' love, and above all uncovering their foundation for existence and love in that which is the very Existence and the very Love – concluded the Archbishop, ending the homily with the words of songs: “We are beautiful with your beauty, Lord”.
– May Mary, the parent of beautiful love, ask out all families and marriages of our archdiocese the grace and blessing of God. Let her be our guide to the upcoming Jubilee year – said Fr Paweł Gałuszek, manager of the Department of household Ministry at the end of the liturgy.
Before being sent forth, the archbishop blessed the seed for sowing. He thanked us for our prayer and for our presence. – There are many of us today, for which we are all grateful that in these modern challenges of the world, among so many threats relating to and to marriage, and to the family, you have come here before the beautiful Mother, our parent and Queen – the woman of Calvary, to ask for yourself, for others for beautiful love. I'm certain he'll listen. And you besides do not quit in your prayers for yourselves, for another families, for all our homeland. Let her be a strong beautiful love," said the Kraków metropolitan.
