In the Catholic Church on May 3, the celebration of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Queen of Poland, the main patron saint of the country. In 1656, King Jan Kazimierz, after defending Jasna Góra against Swedes, made an act of giving the state to her.

In 1962 Pope John XXIII announced Mary Queen of Poland, the main patron saint of the country and the Blue Guardian of the Polish nation.

King Jan Kazimierz on 1 April 1656, before the painting of Our woman of Grace in the cathedral in Lviv, chose Mary as the queen of the voi states, and the Kingdom of Poland recommended her peculiar defence. At that time he promised to spread her honor, vowed to search approval from the Holy See to celebrate her feast as Queen of the Polish Crown and to deal with the destiny of those peasants who experienced exploitation.

"Although the king's vow was held in front of the image of Our woman of Grace in Lviv, the belief that the best kind of image of the Queen of Poland is the image of Mrs Częstochowa was rapidly accepted. The coronation of the image with papal crowns on 8 September 1717 established the conviction of Mary's royality. This was the first coronation of the image of Our Lady, which took place outside Rome" – we read in the breviary, or book of liturgy of hours.

After Poland regained its independency in 1918, the Episcopate of Poland asked the Holy See to introduce a vacation for Poland under the call of the “Queen of Poland”. The bishops proposed to the pope on 3 May to emphasize the inextricable connection of this vacation with the Four-Year Sejm, especially with the first Polish constitution passed on 3 May 1791.

After planet War II, in 1945 Polish bishops led by cardinals. August Hlond renewed on Jasna Góra the act of dedication and devotion to God's Mother. The vows made by King John Casimir were resumed.

Another dedication to the care of the Blessed Mary took place during the large novena, which is simply a preparation for the thousandth anniversary of the baptism of Poland.

On 26 August 1956, the Polish Episcopate renewed Jasna Góra vows. The Polish primate imprisoned by the Polish authorities then symbolized an empty throne and a bunch of white-red flowers. On 5 May 1957, all dioceses and parishes of the Catholic Church in the country surrendered to Mary's care.

Card. Stefan Wyszyński on 3 May 1966, in the presence of the Polish Episcopate and thousands of people “give the nation in motherly captivity to Mary, for the freedom of the Church for the fresh millennium of Poland”.

In 1962 Pope John XXIII proclaimed Mary Queen of Poland – “the main patron saint of the country and the Heavenly Keeper of our nation”.

We meet the oldest Polish images of Our woman in the 11th century. It is “Emmerian Evangelist”, “Pultuski Evangelist” and “Tyniecki Sacramentary”, as well as figures and reliefs in Romanesque churches.

The largest and highest masterpiece of the sculpture dedicated to Mary is the altar of Wit Stwosz from 1477-1489, made for the main altar of the Mariacki church in Krakow, entitled The Sleep of Our Lady.

The parent of God is besides devoted to the oldest surviving Polish poetic text with the melody “The Goddess”.
