There were voices in the media about the Ukrainian organization agreeing to exhume Poles murdered by Ukrainians and worthy of their burial.
On TVP I besides heard that many Ukrainian communities feel the request for authentic reconciliation and apology. Many commentators have accepted this as a good coin. I don't think so. The announcements of these gestures are forced by the interior and external situation of Ukraine.
Firstly, contrary to the propaganda of success, the Russian army is moving forward, an example of which is late captured Wuhledar. Secondly, the escalation of the conflict in the mediate East and Israel's actions are moving the Ukrainian issue to the background. Thirdly, public opinion in many European countries sobers up, has clearly had adequate of throwing money into the bottomless bag and unreflective support for Ukraine. We don't know exactly, but we all fishy the war in Ukraine will go in what direction. possibly it'll last for years. Zamorskie and island allies of present Ukraine have repeatedly shown their religion in history. This may be the case this time erstwhile the war will no longer be profitable to them. Ukrainians most likely realize that.
This, in my opinion, is the reason for the delicate rumblings about the anticipation of apologies and the thought of exhumation under scandalous conditions. It is worth writing a fewer words about the conditions of exhumation. Head of Ukrainian Institute of National Memory Anton Drobowycz presented the “road map” of the exhumation, which, according to him, should include “renewal of devastated burial sites of Ukrainians in Poland”. The old song in a fresh package: you want to exhume the victims of UPA, then put up monuments to commemorate UPA in Poland. The scandal is the deficiency of reaction of Polish authorities to these impudent and unacceptable suggestions. It's like the Germans agreed to exhume the victims of Buchenwald on condition that the SS officers' graves were renewed. In the head of a sane man, it is not what this crucial authoritative of the Ukrainian state said. Why is this attitude of Mr Drokovych and the wider Ukrainian side? In my opinion, fear of consequences. He was right to call Tomasz Jankowski wise words Boris Hass, that exhumations would change the perception of Ukrainian crimes from 1939 to 1947 in the world. due to the fact that if people saw children's skulls broken or their legs and hands cut, the victims would no longer be just statistics. specified an attitude is highly immoral, but justified from the point of view of Kiev politically.
The blame lies not only on the side of Ukrainian authorities, but besides on the side of subsequent government teams in Poland. Or possibly above all, on our side. This behaviour is due to the humble attitude of the “ministers of the Ukrainian people” and the care of completely unrealistic and unprofitable concepts about any Intermortal/ULB. It was the desire of anti-communist Polish emigration. They announced specified a doctrine in the Paris magazine Culture Jerzy Giedroć and Juliusz Mieroszewski. However, I do not believe that, despite all the objections to their attitude, they agree with the policies governing Poland today. I'm not just basing it on my gut.
Editor-in-chief of “Polish Thought” Jan Engelgard he recalled any time ago what Giedroic wrote in 1991: “If we are talking about the independency aspirations of countries specified as Ukraine and Lithuania, we support them to the highest degree. But we should not forget a number of problems. As far as Belarus is concerned, it is crucial to be aware that russification has gone very far and I do not know if it is besides late to talk about Belarus' independence. As far as Ukraine is concerned, it is besides crucial to note that the crucial patch of Ukraine, especially the left-wing one, is mostly affected. That is why we insisted – and our statements on this substance were printed in the “Continent” – to organise a plebiscite in these matters. It should not be demanded that the borders of Ukraine run as they imagine them – it is simply a substance of the people's will. There is simply a full array of circuits that want to belong to Russia, they feel related to Russia and this must be regulated." specified a solution to the dispute today, no of the "giedroytists" would have the courage to present publicly.
I don't request any apology from the Ukrainian state. due to the fact that they are not sincere and will not consequence from a conscious renunciation of a criminal tradition or a desire to make amends to the victims. It will be another theatre aimed at softening the hearts of Poles and wider beginning of wallets. Today's Ukraine negates the genocide committed in the Polish, Russian, Jewish, Hungarian, Czech people, etc. He fakes past by talking about any common conflict, civilian war, russian inspiration, and juxtaposing victims with executioners. Many Ukrainian politicians mention to the expected heroism of banders and whitewash the characters of Bandera and Shuchewycz. Places, squares, and streets are named for part of them, and in many cities there are their monuments. Our authorities should have established a minimum of expectations for Ukraine long ago: the penalization of flagism and Nazism in Ukraine, the condemnation of the bander and neo-Bander organizations, the anticipation of exhumation and the banishment of the remains of Poles to the country, the construction of a museum of victims of integral Ukrainian nationalism and a monument murdered by Ukrainians from 1939 to 1947 in Kiev, and the immediate and final resignation of curiosal ideas about the construction or reconstruction of memorial sites of banders in Poland.
The most despicable politician in Poland said in 1 of the interviews that an example should be taken from Polish bishops and their 1965 letter. It is worth reminding that the letter to the German people "We forgive and ask for forgiveness" was then met with mixed feelings among the general Poles. From the point of view of the Church's teaching, it was surely right, but from the point of view of the large harm suffered by our nation as a consequence of the invasion and business very premature. But you can't compare that. The German states of the time were not straight referring to Naziism. They didn't prohibit the exhumation of the victims. They did not glorify NSDAP, SA or SS officers. There were no memorials of Hitler and Himmler in Berlin and Bonn. After the war, Germany repeatedly apologized for their crimes and paid a large part of the victims of compensation. There were, of course, Nazis surviving and functioning in those German countries, but no 1 in their right head straight referred to this sick racist ideology.
Our mention to any political action should be Poland, not any abroad state or an imaginary transnational concept. The mention must be the security, prosperity and prosperity of the Polish people. Remembering the past, observing the present, 1 must first look at the future of our nation and state. Rulers should think about how to make a good relation with our neighbors after this war is over. There are quite a few madmen here who would love to get our country into war. They're the ones in suits, but they're the ones in uniform.
We have quite a few senseless romantics. People who are frequently honest, but who are guided only by the heart, not by the mind. specified people will talk about the request to go “for our freedom and yours” and pay no attention to the costs. due to the fact that fewer realize that the cost can be a coffin with a boy or a grandson. That must be avoided. It is our endeciate work to put out hot heads, raised in insurrection and curse. We gotta talk about the effects that can affect any Polish family. It is hard and not very effective work, but that is our Polish duty.

Światosław Shevczuk of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church wrote 18.10.2024 a message with the words: “We forgive and ask forgiveness.” This is unacceptable. I've predicted this kind of thing.
In the photo: Ostrewki in Volyn, this was where the church stood. The village was a victim of UPA, during the exhumation in the early 1990s the remains of over 1,000 people were discovered (photo wikipedia)
