The German media, citing the surroundings of Sara Wagenknecht, reported that the decision to make a fresh leftist organization by this well-known politician was yet taken.
As expected, the organization will emergence after the fall elections in Bavaria and Hesse. And it is clearly created for the elections to the European Parliament next summer. Wagenknecht herself has not confirmed these rumors yet, but is happy to give interviews on what the fresh organization should look like.
According to Wagenknecht, the organization must be based on economical rationality, social justice, peace and freedom. In fact, these 4 postulates say little. Therefore, the interview with the Berlin paper Tagesspiegel, in which she answered many explaining questions, importantly complements the thought of the fresh party's niche.
Wagenknecht herself declared herself a typical of the political movement she called leftist conservatism. He tries to explain the difference from alleged reactionary conservatism that he tolerates matrimony among all and does not share racism. Wagenknecht compares the current organization of the Left, which he inactive represents in the Bundestag, to the student community represented in large agglomerations, that is, overidentified and far from the regular needs of people.
There is no uncertainty that his main opponent sees in the current government coalition in which actions see authoritarian tendencies. A politician is inclined to say that things are bad in Germany and blames the ruling coalition. To confirm his words he prefers to appeal to business organizations who believe that Germany is on the verge of a crisis. Wagenknecht powerfully criticized the government's migration policy, arguing that the housing market, schools and kindergartens have long been incapable to cope with the influx of refugees.
A policy position on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is peculiarly interesting. It is she who mostly distinguishes the Wagenknecht line from the Left organization line, which condemned the war and supported the transportation of arms to Kiev. The essence of the conflict sees Ukraine's quest for NATO membership and advocates peace talks.
According to various estimates, the possible of the fresh left organization may be around 19% and will make competition for right-wing populists. Wagenknecht herself is well known in Germany and according to August polls already ranks 3rd among the most popular politicians. Her party, says Hendrik Traeger, prof. of the University of Leipzig would easy become part of the future Bundestag.
Wagenknecht's success did not happen, of course. A fewer years ago, she attempted to organize a social movement "Rebirth", and at the end of last year she published the Manifesto of Peace, which attracted under her banner a million Germans.
But creating a political party, as she admitted in an interview with Tagesspiegel, requires considerable organizational effort. Many political observers believe that Wagenknecht itself has a better chance of becoming an ideology and the face of a fresh party. And the question of who will carry out organizational work and supply finance is inactive open.
