Waćkowski: Janczar – a series on past and diplomacy

myslpolska.info 3 weeks ago

For the 3rd time, I am writing a review of the Russian series. This time I was very impressed by the show Janczar.

Janczar It is Russian production, but actors from Armenia and Serbia play in it. There is besides a tiny Polish theme: in the form of Fyodora Romanova (Fiodor Romanow was the father of the first Tsar of the Romanov dynasty Mikhail Romanova) incarnate Dmitri Uljanovwho played the function of russian pilot Yuri Svetlov in Polish movie Small Moscow.

Heroic Cossack

The main character of the show is Alexey's Cossack. During their vacation in the field of Alexey and their father defy the Nogai attack (Nogai are a people related to the Tatars). Alexey's father dies. Young Cossack decides to fulfill his last will and goes on a pilgrimage. Along the way, Alexei is simply a group of robbers (this effect is awesome among the Janczars observing events from the walls of the fortress). The thugs want revenge on the Cossack. Revenge fails, and the young Cossack will be forced to join the Janczars. Alexey becomes Ali. The main character becomes friends with Janczar Arslan (as it turns out later, Arslan is cryptic Armenian).

Two empires

At the same time, the Russian Clement is in a large crisis. On the throne sits the infirm Tsar Fiodor (son of Tsar Ivan IV the Terrible). The fighters are fighting. State de facto rules Boris Godunov. Godunov realizes that the Russian state is in a large crisis and wants to prevent the war against the Ottoman Empire. She sends on a mission to Istanbul Danil, who has a beautiful daughter, Anna.

The Ottoman Empire is besides threatened by the crisis. The Sultan is Mehmed III (Sultan’s great-grandson Suleyman the Great). large vizier Hassan Pasha seeks to face Moscow. The Tatars, on his behalf, kidnap Anna to blackmail Danil (Anna goes to the Sultan's harem). Hassan Pasha conducts his own politics, due to the fact that behind the back of the Sultan he writes letters to Tsar Fyodor with absurd demands. Hassan Pasha's opponent is Murad Pashawho advocates achieving political goals through diplomacy. The war organization kills Danil (they number on the Russians to declare war on the Ottoman Empire after killing the MP). In addition, they take over a friendly letter written on behalf of the Tsar to the Sultan.

Perfidious Albion

The show shows the perfidy of Englishmen who want the Ottoman Empire to usage for their own purposes. The English do not want to hand over firearms and cannons to the Turks, but at the same time do not want to quit their trade deals with the Russians. The Sultan is willing to fight the Russians under the condition of handing over the weapons (a letter written by the English ambassador to London takes over the Russians and this correspondence will be delivered by Alexey to the fresh Tsar Boris Godunov). The English say among themselves that there are many Armenians and Greeks surviving in Istanbul, suggesting that they could be utilized in the future against the Turks (which actually happened after planet War I erstwhile the British utilized naive Greeks and Armenians for their purposes).

Historical details

A definite advantage of the show is to show historical truth, which is not precisely shown in Turkish historical series. We see black eunuchs on the show according to historical truth. In Russian production the Sultan Safiye (mother of Sultan Mehmed III) is shown. The sultanka is presented as a caring mother, caring for the state. The Sultan surely loved her son, however. It was she who increased pathology in the political strategy of the Ottoman Empire.

In my opinion, the escape of Alexey and Anna (Anna was to marry a sultan – this is simply a full fiction). Additionally, at the beginning of the series, Turks talk Turkish and Russians talk Russian. FromThe end of the first episode, however, everyone speaks Russian but for English diplomats erstwhile talking to each other.

Godun’s Patriotism

The show shows Boris Godunov as a large statesman. Godunov is simply a visionary, a political realist. The show presents how he won a decision from the Constantinopolitan Patriarch to make the Moscow Patriarchate and the full Rusi. Godunov is shown as a dry diplomat who – after preventing the war with the Ottoman Empire – proposed that Shusky vassyl (then the boyar) established contacts with the English in order to acquisition technologies developing the Russian Czarcie.

The Russian show ends well. Alexey returns to her hometown with his wife Anna, who is pregnant. The series is very valuable due to the fact that it shows in an interesting way historical events that have mostly occurred. On the another hand, young Cossack is simply a symbol of valor and valor, and Anna is simply a female faithful to her values and views.
