It seems that Israel decided to leave the ghetto of political correctness and invited the European right to a conference against anti-Semitism. Sounds like a sensation? Oh, yeah. But before anyone could be happy that dialog was possible, the old choruses of holy outrage spoke.
The conference will take place on 26-27 March 2025 in Jerusalem, under the auspices of the Minister of Diaspora Amichaj Chikli, a man who has the courage to talk plainly and to hold talks with those whose left would most willingly remove from the surviving world. Chikli invited Jordan Bardella, the leader of the French National Unity (RN), Marion Maréchal, a Euro MP from the same party, and Hermann Tertsch from the Spanish Vox. However, a large condition of the western right hand has long been eyeing the Jews, especially Israel. There are at least 2 reasons for this. Protesters, for example, feel an ideological relation to Judaism (and not know why immediately with Zionism, although orthodox Jews usually condemn this idea?) and besides in Israel all see a barrier against Islam, with which they have a serious problem in their countries. From here, for example. A fresh call for cooperation by the Patriots for Europe to Likud.
And what happened? French philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy resigned due to the fact that he does not want to share the scene with “extremists”. German Commissioner for Anti-Semitism, Felix Klein, besides signed out – he says he did not know who would be present. Volker Beck, a erstwhile Bundestag MP and LGBT activist, besides refused – in his opinion, the presence of the “high right” compromises the fight against anti-Semitism. Well, fight hate, but only people with the right view.
Interestingly, the conference is opened by Israel's president Isaac Herzog himself, and the guest list besides includes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Argentina's president Javier Milei, ADL chief Jonathan Greenblatt and Evangelist preacher Mike Evans. In the programme: panels, lectures and even a journey to the West Bank – of course “for a better knowing of the strategical context of the region”.
No AfD was invited – even though the organization won second place in the last German parliamentary election. Apparently, individual has decided that Vox and RN are sufficiently "controversial" for 1 event.
Why is this all so interesting? due to the fact that even a fewer years ago, Israel did not talk to anyone who had anything to do with the National Front, Falanga or akin formations. The authoritative position was clear: no contact with “the heirs of Fascism”. But times are changing, and political reality, especially in Europe, is becoming increasingly right-wing. So can it be better to talk to those who truly want to support Israel and fight Islamism than to stick to the rigid dogmas of left-wing guilt theology?
By the way, funny: Bardella said his presence in Jerusalem "is proof of his absolute commitment to combating anti-Semitism." Sounds like a paradox? For those who believe that a nationalist must by definition hatred Jews – most likely so. But the planet is no longer black and white, gentlemen philosophers.
The most absurd thing is that nationalists – the bad ones by definition – enter Israeli institutions with an open hand, and are inactive seceded. If they said “won with Israel!” they would most likely get an invitation to Columbia University campus with standing ovation.
But due to the fact that they say "work together," they are "threats." That's logic.
