European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen said that she and respective EU leaders had a conversation with US president Donald Trump after his conversation with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
Earlier on Monday, Russian president Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with US president Donald Trump. The conversation lasted more than 2 hours.
"I had a good telephone conversation with Donald Trump with the president (France – ed.) Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister (Italy – ed.) Giorgia Meloni, president (Finland – ed.) Alexander Stubb, Chancellor (German – ed.) Friedrich Merzem and... Zelenski after a telephone conversation with president Putin," wrote Von der Leyen.
Sources reported that the conversation between European leaders and Zelenski and Trump lasted about an hour.
