In his speech in Munich, during which J.D. Vance gave strong criticism of democracy in Europe, he yet recalled John Paul II's message, which he called "one of the most extraordinary advocates of democracy."
He said: “To believe in democracy is to realize that each of our citizens has his own wisdom and his own voice. And if we refuse to perceive to his voice, even our most effective efforts will only safe very little. As John Paul II erstwhile said, in my opinion 1 of the most remarkable advocates of democracy on this continent and on all others – “Do not be afraid!” We should not be afraid of our own people even if they express opinions contrary to their leaders' views.”
Hit the table and the scissors will speak. Donald Tusk, The Prime Minister of the Government, who led a number of “politicians” representing, according to the words of John Paul II – the civilization of death – dressed as the protector of the heritage of John Paul II. He wrote on “X”: “Everyone who quotes the words of John Paul II “DO NOT WORRY” should remember that they were intended to strengthen the opposition of the Polish people against Russian domination.” Thus he brought the Gospel message of John Paul II (because of the revival of the Christian spirit and not political geopolitical games to him) to pure politics. The same Tusk, who notoriously forgets what he said a year or 2 years ago, said in 2023, "No 1 should, either left or right, make John Paul II a political figure that changes according to interests." He added that the Pope's legacy is besides valuable to "treat them instrumentally as power does today." It's been a small over a year and the same Tusk is doing precisely what he utilized to do to PiS. Unfortunately, that shows who we're dealing with.
But individual will ask – who is closer to John Paul II – Vance or Tusk? A rhetorical question. Examples of the misappropriation of EU countries to the Christian heritage of Europe are besides evident to recognise that Vance made the correct diagnosis. Among another things, he gave examples of prosecution by courts in EU countries of people who quote the Bible on sodomy or pray in front of abortion clinics. Vance is an opponent of abortion, Tusk pushes her through crazy lefties in the government that have the support of his political formation. This is simply a bright and visible mistake to the bare eye in the inheritance of John Paul II, which peculiarly placed large importance on this issue.
The fact that Vance is right is evidenced by the seldom quoted speech of John Paul II of June 11, 1999, erstwhile he was a guest of the Polish parliament. Tusk was his witness, but I think he forgot what the Pope was talking about. This is worth reminding:
"The challenges facing a democratic state request the solidarity of all people of good will – regardless of political options or worldview, who want together to make the common good of the Homeland. Respecting the appropriate life of a political community of autonomy, 1 must besides remember that it cannot be understood as independency from ethical principles. Also, pluralist states must not quit ethical standards in public life. «After the fall in many countries of ideology, as I wrote in the Encyclical Veritatis splendor, which linked politics to the totalitarian imagination of the world—primarily Marxism—there is present no little serious threat of negation of the fundamental rights of the human individual and of reabsorbing even spiritual needs rooted in the heart of all human being: it is simply a threat of an ally of democracy with ethical relativism, which deprives the civilian community of a permanent moral mention point, taking distant its extremist ability to admit truth. If “there is no eventual truth, a guide to political activity and a direction for it, it is easy to instrumentalize ideas and beliefs for the purposes of power. History teaches that valueless democracy easy turns into a public or camouflaged totalitarianism‘» (n. 101)’.
