Democratic associate of the U.S. home of Representatives Mikie Sherrill has prepared a bill that, if adopted, will oblige president Donald Trump's ally, head of the US Government's Department of Efficiency (DOGE) Elona Muska and his staff to undergo a drug test — reports Axios citing the bill.
"The home of Representatives politician introduces a risky bill that would force Trump's deputy and billionaire Elon Musk and his employees at DOGE to submit to standardized drug tests," she reported, citing a copy of the bill seen by the portal.
Sherrill calls for a standard to be introduced according to which "special government workers", including DOGE staff headed by Musk, should be tested for illegal drugs before starting work. If the results are positive, specified workers should be removed from the national service for at least a year.
"It is highly likely that the Sherrill Act will not enter into force soon, as Republicans control both Houses of legislature and the White House," Axios notes.
In 2023, Wall Street diary published an article in which he claimed Musk was utilizing ketamine. In January 2024, the publication reported, citing sources that Musk inactive uses various drugs, especially ketamine, which could have serious consequences not only for his health, but besides for companies under his direction.
