Our company data goes through abroad companies and now it's time for individual data.

The Ministry of Digitization published a bill adapting Polish law to EU eIDAS 2.0. As a result, the data provided by mCitizen will should be handled by a fresh program in accordance with the Regulation (or at least the Act).

The Ministry of Digital Affairs describes the problem in detail. "In the case of mCitizen application, identity and citizenship of Polish user of the application [...] confirms 'mCitizen document' [...] In the case of a European digital identity portfolio, the identity and citizenship of the user (not only the Polish citizen) shall be confirmed by the recognition data referred to in Article 3(3) of the eIDAS Regulation and in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2977.

The second component incompatible with eIDAS is the paper sharing model. mCitizen takes them straight from government infrastructure to the user device, without organization intermediary. Meanwhile, EU government requires e-documents to be issued, among others, by qualified trust service providers, i.e. authorised, besides private, external entities. We are so waiting for mCitizen 3.0.

So speaking in Polish - there will be a fresh highly European programme with akin functions but our data will gotta flow through "authorized, besides private, external entities".

I want to cry!...
