Police officers from Tarnowskie Góra secure over 43 kg of pseudoephedrine, from which more than 32,000 portions of methamphetamine could be obtained. The alleged “war refugees” from Ukraine – a 51-year-old female and her 17-year-old boy – were detained for the matter.
Ukrainians caught with immense amounts of drugs destined for the Polish market. Criminals together with officers of the National taxation Administration in Katowice, secured over 43 kilograms of ‘raw material’ from which drugs were to be produced.
The event took place a fewer months ago, in February this year, erstwhile officers of the National taxation Administration from Katowice, stationed at the Katowice – Pyrzowice global Airport, revealed suspicious substances in 4 air shipments that flew to the cargo terminal from Egypt. The packages contained 2.5 kilos of pseudoephedrine, which were to be placed at 1 of the addresses in Tychów. This location was home to a “war refugee” from Ukraine.
In the course of a search of the flat of the future recipient, customs agents secured another 21 containers, which combined more than 13.5 kg of drug precursor, as well as cash in various currencies. After the calculation it was over PLN 400 thousand. This is not the end of the matter, as in the following days officers monitored further shipments arriving in Pyrzowice. Within a fewer days, they took over another 42 packages addressed to the same address. There were a full of 27 kilograms of pseudoephedrine in the consignments.
The investigating manager of the Tarnowskie Mountains territory lawyer presented crucial amounts of import and possession of drug precursors to the detainees, and the court, at the request of investigators, arrested a 51-year-old female and her 17-year-old son. An expert was called to the case, who stated that with a secured amount of pseudoephedrine, more than 32,000 methamphetamine dealer plots with a black marketplace value of over million zlotys could be obtained.
The case was only released now, as a fewer days ago, the territory Court in Gliwice received an indictment against suspected Ukrainians. Theoretically, they are facing up to 20 years in prison.
