Ukrainians had no sympathy for Poles from the very beginning of the Russian invasion of February 2022 and were not grateful to them. The first survey of moods from the beginning of the war clearly showed that alleged war refugees who came from us do not like Poles. She admitted this in an interview with Onet sociologist Dorota Peretitovich. However, these results were withheld by mainstream media and the politicians of COPIS, so that, as she said, they were not "received badly". This means that from the very beginning, public opinion has been fed a lying communicative of expected gratitude for its tremendous help.
Ukrainians were ungrateful to Poles from the very beginning. This fact came out only now, together with an article on Onet portal. According to a survey conducted in the spring of 2022, for most “refugees”, Poland was only a transit country, not a place where they wanted to stay. The Ukrainians did not feel gratitude to Poles for receiving and helping. On the contrary, our showing kindness caused them to dislike it due to the fact that they did not want to feel guilty. As she emphasized in an interview with Onetu Dorota Peretiatovich, the Ukrainians did not want to be seen as a “coir” thanking for the rescue.
This shows the immense gap between reality and propaganda, which was imposed in Poland by the media and politicians. As we remember, the media have convinced Poles that they are expected to be "brotherhood" and "community of fate" with the Ukrainians, as well as their expected gratitude, while investigation has pointed to coldness, indifference and even dislike from "refugees".
The enthusiasm of Poles towards helping Ukrainians was very large and long lasting. Its decline is simply a substance of the last six months. A large number of Poles have already learned what immigrants from Ukraine odor like, how insolent and demanding they are and how they usage the hand given to them.
Had it not been for the 2022 investigation to be withheld, all of this could have happened much faster, and the rulers would have been more careful about adopting further privileges for Ukrainian citizens. Hiding these results is proof that society was not taken seriously – alternatively of the fact we got carefully arranged propaganda communicative on a Ukrainian-good, Russian-bad, and Polish, which does not help-bad. It's nothing but social engineering, known for totalitarian systems.
According to government data, there are presently around 1.55 million Ukrainian citizens in our country, almost 1 million of whom benefit from temporary protection. For this reason, they are mistakenly referred to as "war refugees", though they did not apply for global protection, according to internationally accepted standards. The first wave of solidarity was huge, but as the latest CBOS survey shows, there is simply a clear crisis in the relationship. The level of sympathy towards the Ukrainians is falling, but the feeling that their presence is simply a burden on the social system, schools, wellness services, prisons and the labour marketplace is increasing.
Poles are just sick of it. It's time the Ukrainians got back together.
