Public tv demands compensation for violation of its rights and for unfair competition, unlawful benefit, apology and social payment. The full sum of demands is PLN million.
On Wednesday, March 27, the TVP Information Centre announced that, according to erstwhile announcements, it filed a suit against tv Republika in the Warsaw territory Court. The case has its origins in December of the erstwhile year, erstwhile after the change of government there were besides changes in the management of Polish tv and Polish Radio. This led to the departure from tv of parts of the “journalists”, including Michał Rachon. Shortly after, Rachon began working on tv Republika.
We remind you that Rachon moved his program "#We are going" (which was previously broadcast on TVP Info) to a fresh employer, retaining a very akin convention and title (which was somewhat changed to "#We are going. Michael Rachon). Experts indicated that specified action could form the basis for unfair competition claims and copyright infringement.

Meanwhile, after the president vetoed the budget bill that provided for additional funds for TVP, the company was put in liquidation. The liquidator acting on her behalf, Daniel Gorgosz, had already sent a pre-trial call to tv in February, in which he demanded not only compensation of PLN million, but besides the cessation of production, emissions and distribution of the “We are going. Michał Rachon”, and immediately remove his fragments and full episodes from YouTube, Facebook and X platforms (formerly Twitter). This request besides included the cessation of the usage of the logotype which, according to TVP's claims, was created and distributed by the Polish Television, and the payment of PLN 100 000 to the Polish movie Institute as compensation for actions in the framework of unfair competition, and the granting of an apology in the form of a 40-second message.
– In the opinion of the company, specified activities are illegal, including the copyright of the company. TVP SA in liquidation will so shortly take appropriate legal action against the infringers. Definitely negative evaluation of the «We are going» programme by TVP S.A. liquidator in liquidation remains irrelevant to the formal validity of the call – the TVP Information Centre in its Communication informed at that time.
