The United States president Donald Trump's administration has decided to temporarily suspend abroad aid for foundations and NGOs.
Behind the money are reportedly already crying – Stanisław Brzozowski's Name Association (the publisher of Political Critics), Helsinki Foundation of Human Rights, Association 61, Foundation Active Democracy, Foundation "It's Simple", run Against Homophobia, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, or organizers of the task "Tour de Constitution".
"No 1 expected this – neither we nor our donors. We inactive number the losses... We got e-mails saying thank you, goodbye. My organization has survived the last 8 years due to funds from the United States. For any NGOs it is simply a failure of 1/3 of the budget, for others half, for others even more. What is the scale of the problem, we'll find out" – says OKO.press Róża Rzeplińska from the 61st Association.
“One 100 1000 dollars a year, which came to us through intermediaries from the U.S. Department of Labour, we spent on advocacy, training for activists, or a local fight against anti-LGBT resolutions. This pot was almost entirely released, but we had a promise to proceed – another $75,000. We wanted to dedicate them, among others, to a major social run on partnerships. From day to day we lost PLN 350,000" – Mirka Makuchowska in Tysol from the run Against Homophobia.
Note that those who told you about “ruskie rubles”, “shooting champagne stoppers in the Kremlin” and “how much Putin pays you” are very frequently on the American, German, Scandinavian, British or Israeli pot. The elite of the 3rd Republic truly believe that. Where does this belief come from? From my own experience. elder donors remembering the times of the NRA and underground Solidarity erstwhile they were funded by abroad centres. A stream of money was coming from Washington, Brussels, and London. This was besides done through the hierarchs of the Catholic Church. The fresh generation (activists, activists and crucial activists), raised in the 3rd Poland from the beginning, was beneficiaries of various Western foundations.
Both view this as natural and hence their suspicion that your attitude, views and opinions must be paid by Putin, Dugin, Medvedev, Ziuganov, Lukashenko, Orban, or at least Fico. It is not within their minds that you can do politics or a publicist without clear hints and hints. It's just like the file from years ago. Mr Zbigniew Szczęsny recalled that specified political criticism, for example, was received in 2023:
– including grants of PLN 8,650,000, including:
– PLN 2,790.000 from the European Commission
– PLN 1 090 000 from Soros Foundation
– 1 240 000 from the Capital Town Hall, or Trzaskowski
– PLN 438,000 from the Batory Foundation, which is besides Soros, only that through Polish means
– PLN 128 000 from the European Climate Foundation
– 417 000 from the Foundation for the improvement of Local Democracy (in the authorities of PO people and surrounding areas)
They do not let them fall, and erstwhile they feed them in a mild hunger, they will be even more obedient and so useful. It's nothing. Let's enjoy the moment. Let's hope at least any plankton on alien leashes falls. And the main players will be good for a while little money to fool the nation and sow misinformation.
