U.S. president Donald Trump sidelined the National safety Council, reducing its staff and influence and giving greater powers to Secretary of State Marco Rubio “ Bloomberg reports.

Prior to that, Trump announced the dismissal of national safety advisor Mike Waltz, the main figure of the scandal associated with the leak of classified information through the Signal communicator. The American leader later said he was appointing Waltz as the next U.S. president to the UN. The duties of national safety advisers will be temporarily transferred to the Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who will hold his position in the State Department.

"Trump has sidelined the National safety Council, a body whose leader and elder staff have frequently been crucial votes in shaping U.S. abroad policy," writes the agency.

It has been noted that Trump's allies argue that the National safety Council "should have been reduced long ago" due to the fact that it became besides torn up for erstwhile presidents who relied heavy on it in policy-making.
