The launch of central e-registration for cardiologist visits and preventive studies, specified as mammography and cytology, is inactive delayed. Although it was initially planned to implement the strategy as early as July 2023, as indicated by Isabella Leszczyna, head of the wellness department, the deadline was postponed for further weeks. Despite announcements, the strategy is inactive not full operational and patients are waiting for its implementation.
Why is the central e-Registration inactive not working?
According to the Deputy Minister of wellness Jerzy Szafranowicz, the process of uru and central registration is gradual. In an interview with RMF FM, he acknowledged: “It slows down, this registration starts, we know that the announcements were different, this is the consequence of the problems that have fallen on us and the obligations that we have. We work out details on how e-registration is to work yet erstwhile the pilotage is finished.”
What are the real start dates of the system?
At the end of August 2023, the recruitment of medical facilities for the pilot programme of central e-registration, including preventive studies and cardiac counselling, began. The process of signing contracts between the NFZ and the facilities began in September and the first pilot services are planned for October.
According to RMF FM data, at least 42 applications have been submitted to date from medical facilities curious in piloting. In order for the strategy to start fully, hospitals and clinics inactive request to adapt their IT systems to a fresh solution.

Pilotage: Chance for medical facilities
Participation in the pilot-up of central e-registration is voluntary for medical facilities that sign contracts with NFZ and meet the requirements laid down in the Regulation of the Minister of Health. These facilities will receive additional backing for the implementation of the system. These bonuses will include, among another things, the transfer of the dates of visits to the P1 platform and the implementation of pilot visits.
The award strategy of the facilities takes into account the kind of software they usage – they may be their own solutions or the platform of biz.gov.pl.
Nearly 1.3 million visits were lost in 2023
The implementation of central e-registration is intended to respond to the problem of unreturned visits. In 2023 nearly 1.3 million NFZ visits were lost. The most unused terms afraid orthopedics and traumatology (420 thousand), cardiology (280,000), outpatient physiotherapy (180 thousand), endocrinology (120 thousand) and oncology (100 thousand). Central e-registration aims to reduce this number, allowing better management of visit dates.
What's next?
The central e-registration pilotage will last until 30 June 2025. The system, which aims to facilitate the management of visits by patients, will be gradually implemented in medical facilities that have reported their willingness to participate in the project. Patients will gain more flexibility and medical facilities will receive financial support for the implementation of the strategy and for conducting piloting visits.
