In the face of the threat, activists of the Opole Confederation decided to collect data on the number of protective structures in the Opole state in case of an attack by Russia.

The situation which has been taking place in Ukraine for many months shows that the times of peace have ended. safety is not only provided by modern military equipment, which Poland is presently trying to acquire. Attention should be paid to ensuring the safety of civilians. We are at the border of the scope of the Iskander rockets (from the Kings and Belarus). These are short-range ballistic missiles. They can carry an atomic warhead of up to 50 kT TNT (a bit more than 3 times as much as an atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima). These missiles, mostly armed with conventional warheads up to 700kg (480-700kg). Koljena rocket is simply a celebrated Kindzarz, in fact it is simply a modified Iskander-M carried from the air mostly by MiG-31.

As a Confederate, we believe that the Polish government is not doing anything to increase the number of shelters that could sufficiently guarantee full safety for civilians in the event of attacks from Russia.

It is clear from the data of the Department of safety and Emergency Management of the Provincial Office in Opole that Opolans cannot feel safe. We're moving out of places where in the event of rocket attacks, The Opolans could take shelter.

On 6 April this year, a conference was held at the office of the General office of the State Fire Service, during which the Deputy Minister Maciej Wąsik, together with the Chief Commandant of the PSP, Brigadier General Andrzej Bartkowiak, presented the results of the nationwide inventory of buildings and buildings utilized to shelter the population.

The data provided show that:

• In Poland there are only a small over 300 1000 places in shelters, and about 1 million people can hide in shelters.

• There is not a single active shelter in Opole! According to the data of the Opole Voivodeship Office, the nearest and only in the Opole Voivodeship is the anti-atomic shelter in Krapkowice (about 27 km from Opole). What's crucial is that it can only hold 102 people...

• In the Opole Voivodeship, which has a population of 990 000, there are only 7 shelters that will accommodate 702 people.

As a Confederate, we pay attention to the issue of civilian protection. Providing civilian safety in the event of an air strike should be a precedence for authorities at all level.

We remind you that there are objects in Opole that may be the mark of possible Russian attacks, specified as the military area of the Logistics Brigade or the Opole Power Plant. specified crucial strategical facilities force the region's capital to make shelters against both conventional and atomic attacks. As regards atomic shelters, they should be provided with all the essential means to last civilians in the event of a atomic attack, specified as food and medicine. We call on the state and local authorities to build fresh shelters, or to renovate those which have been neglected for decades, which present do not meet any standards and are deleted from the shelter records.

We besides ask if there are plans to evacuate the city's population in the event of a justified threat, are the state authorities ready to carry out specified evacuation efficiently?
