The proposed planet wellness Organisation (WHO) budget for the years 2026 and 2027 was reduced by 21% due to the withdrawal of the United States from the organization," said WHO CEO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus at the beginning of the 78th General wellness Assembly.
"This week you will consider a reduced budget of $4.2 billion for the years 2026-2027. This is 21 percent little than the originally proposed $5.3 billion budget," he said.
He added that the organisation could not do everything that associate States asked it to do, given the resources available.
Previously US president Donald Trump signed an executive order withdrawing the country from WHO. The fresh administration believes that the WHO is not effective enough, is politically influenced and requires besides much US funding.
