Euro MP Anna Bryłka in the European Parliament on strategical Dialogue, which was to respond to the problems of farmers protesting.
– The strategical dialog was created to respond to the problems of the farmers protesting, including in the area of trade policy, but we do not find specified an answer in a paper prepared in early September.
Because, on the 1 hand, the European Union imposes very advanced standards of food production for European farmers, and on the another hand, it opens the Community marketplace to imports of agri-food products from 3rd countries where specified standards are not required. And that's not... This asymmetry of production standards is truly unfair competition that we impose on European farmers who are incapable to compete on specified unequal rules.
On the another hand, as the erstwhile speakers have mentioned here, we have a negotiated free trade agreement with the Mercosur countries, where there is no warrant that imported food will comply with food production standards in Europe. There are no tools to supervise this import at all, that it is actually impossible.
#INTA The strategical dialog was expected to be a consequence to the problems of the farmers protesting, and it is actually a further implementation of the European Green Deal in agriculture, in a more restrictive form.

And we are all aware of what food production in South America looks like – starting with growth hormones, the usage of banned plant protection products, not already utilized in the European Union, or the government on deforestation, which is besides not respected in South America.
So my question is how – Mercosur is 1 thing, but there is inactive Ukraine, where we besides have rules liberalising trade in agri-food products from Ukraine, we will besides analyse this problem next year – so the question is, how are we expected to defend food producers in Europe if the European Union is simply pursuing the assumptions of unfair competition towards European farmers? .
