Attempts before the parade for the Polish Army Festival mean closures of Wisłostrada, cut off exits and changes in communication. Warsaw submits the movement to military preparations for respective hours, due to the fact that the state vacation requires order, safety and discipline.
Visłostrada closed for trials
Prior to the parade on the occasion of the Polish Army, soldiers conduct trials on the Warsaw Wisłostrad. The Warsaw Office informed that during preparations the Wisłostrada section will be closed from the Skłodowska-Curie Bridge to Gagarina Street. The changes besides include cross streets, exits and crossings in the vicinity of the parade route.
This means problem for drivers, passengers and residents of central districts. The central celebrations on August 15 are expected to have a large scale. The Ministry of Defence announced a military parade in Wisłostrad and a naval parade in Gdynia. By MON communication, the defilade is due to begin on 15 August at 12 noon, and soldiers of various types of armed forces and allied armies are to participate in the event.

State vacation price
Warsaw will experience difficulties, but it is worth maintaining proportions. The Polish Army Christmas parade is not a private event or a city festival. It is simply a state sign of remembrance of the 1920 triumph and a public army show to defend Polish borders, families and political decisions.
This does not mean that officials may underestimate residents. The information must be clear, the detours must be marked and the replacement communication must be operational. Patriotism requires respect for the military, but besides respect for a citizen who wants to get to work, infirmary or home.
Practical application for residents
It is wise to avoid Wisłostrada and the strict surroundings of the test routes, usage the metro wherever possible, and check current WTP messages and the city. Drivers should presume longer passage through the centre and not number on standard exits over the Vistula.
The stakes are simple. If Poland wants to show strong troops, it must be able to organize the city during exercises and parades. A good army show starts earlier: in logistics, communications, safety and peaceful execution of the plan.
