Confederate press conference attended by associate of the European Parliament Grzegorz Braun and Michał Waver, on 28 August 2024.
Michał Wawer:
– Another act of the Ukrainianization of Poland, another act of politics conducted on the knees, another act of giving to immigrants unjustified privileges! All this in 1 package under the grateful name “Ukrainian component”.
What is the Ukrainian component? It is simply a peculiar educational program arranged by the Ukrainian government, the government in Kiev; an educational program to be served to Ukrainian children residing in Poland as part of Saturday schools until it enters the authoritative Polish curriculum. Served in Polish schools to children, but at the expense of the Polish taxpayer! And in this Ukrainian component is to be cognition chosen, selected not by the Polish Ministry of Education, but by the Ukrainian government. This is expected to be cognition in part from non-controversial themes: geography, Ukrainian law or civic education, but besides history. Or should we say: from this version of history, which he considers to be the actual Ukrainian government.
Because let us have no illusions, in specified a Ukrainian component, building the modern national identity of Ukraine, there will be information about the Volyn massacre and this will be information incompatible with authoritative historical technological knowledge, only these will be stories which the Ukrainian government accepts as authoritative historical cognition – that is, stories about that in the Volyn massacre the Ukrainians were victims, not perpetrators, and that Poles were perpetrators, not victims. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is outrageous.
It is scandalous that to anyone in the Polish government – whether present or erstwhile – due to the fact that it is unfortunately one, the same policy of the Ukrainianization of Poland – that to any of the Polish politicians, or from the PiSu, or from the Platform comes to head to agree to teach things contrary to the Polish national interest; things that conflict with the most apparent truth; things that they should fight for, so that in Ukrainian schools they should not be taught, they agree that these worst things are taught in Polish schools and that anti-Polish content is Ukrainian children who have come to Poland, benefit from our help, our hospitality, that they should be given for the money of the Polish taxpayer; and that these children should be raised in anti-Polish spirit, in the spirit of historical falsehood.
Anyone who agrees to this is clearly violating the oaths we make as MPs, as politicians. To curse to defend the Republic of Poland and its national interest. Anyone who agrees to this is pursuing the Ukrainian interest, not the Polish interest. halt the Ukrainianization of the Polish education system!
