The film, which featured scenes from the autopsy as a promotional element, was published on the authoritative channel of the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce on the TikTok platform. It is worth noting that the University is among 11 universities that received a negative evaluation from the Polish Accreditation Commission. Despite this fact, he has been continuing to survey 60 students since October.

The full situation around the University of Natural and Humanities in Siedlce has become a scandal. This case has provoked outrage in the medical community, which underlines that medical courses have been opened at universities that do not meet the applicable standards. It is worth noting again that the University of Siedlce was among 11 negatively assessed by the Polish Accreditation Commission.

In a published movie presenting classes in the recently opened Anatomy Laboratory, students execute sectional activities on human corpses. Following the outbreak of the scandal, the university took steps to remove promotional material that utilized scenes from the autopsy.

– The material was informative and educational. There was no violation of the law. In view of the controversy, we are examining this material and we will be making decisions about modifying the content that is included there. – says Beata Gałek, spokeswoman of the University of Natural and Humanities.

The presentation of the promotional material showing the sectoral activities showed the presence of human corpses. Nevertheless, this issue may not end only at this stage, as the medical authority intends to study the substance to the Ombudsman of Professional Responsibility. In addition, the Bureau of the Regional Medical Council in Warsaw took a position on this issue, highlighting, among another things, ethical and legal aspects, the willingness of the university to conduct a medical course and calling for corrective action. The Bureau expressed its deep concern and disapproval of the University's commercial activities. The National Aviation Rescue Service (NRL) expressed the view that the chosen form of promotion, due to its content, form and place of publication, is contrary to the mission of the higher education system, violates human dignity, ethical standards and may even exhaust the signs of the crime in accordance with Article 262 of the Criminal Code.

This article lays down that a individual who insults the corpse, human ashes or burial site of the deceased shall be subject to fines, imprisonment or imprisonment for up to 2 years. The Regional Medical Council (ORL) emphasizes that teaching medical students is not just about transferring medical knowledge, but besides about shaping ethical awareness, including respect for human corpses, which are both the origin and foundation of anatomy learning. The ORL assessed the presentation of the movie as a mistrust of the mission of the education system, technological activities, shaping civic attitudes and participation in social development, which is guaranteed by the Constitution in the context of natural and inalienable human dignity.

In addition, the Code of Medical Ethics has besides been breached in respect of respect for human rights, concern for the dignity of the medical profession, undermine trust in the profession and usage of medical cognition in a way contrary to the appointment of a doctor. Rules on teaching students and training doctors have been broken, which impose the work of teaching and training doctors to be worthy of examples for their subjects.

The medical authority besides considers that the activities undertaken by the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities may violate the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) on the protection of individual data, even in spite of the effort to distort the image by ‘pixeling’ parts of the material, which is technically reversible.

Failure to comply with circumstantial rules on the handling of corpses is simply a major problem, as recalled by the Regional Medical Council (ORL), citing the case law of the Constitutional Court. According to this case law, the pursuit of a profession of public trust, which includes doctors and dentists, is governed by the standards of professional ethics, the content of vows, corporate tradition and the specificity of education and specialisation.

The right to exercise the profession of public trust is subject to certain conditions, including moral qualifications, in addition to professional competence. Therefore, the failure to comply with certain principles of the treatment of corpses in the framework of medical education is considered by the ORL to be grossly irresponsible, challenging the real willingness of the university to conduct a medical course. This is peculiarly crucial in the context of the negative opinion of the Polish Accreditation Commission on the right of universities to lead this direction. The ORL stresses that the approval of specified a direction should be preceded by an accurate analysis and a affirmative opinion of the PKA.

The absence of uniform rules for the conduct of the sectoral halls is besides mentioned as contributing to the incidental described. The ultimate Medical Council (NRL) has besides discussed the requirements to warrant advanced quality medical education. The NRL proposed measures to halt the degradation of doctoral education associated with the simplification of the overall level of higher education. The Rector of the Warsaw Medical University prof. Zbigniew Gacyong participated in the discussion.

Criticism is besides directed towards erstwhile Minister Czarnek. The president of the Committee on Medical Education and the associate of the NRL Bureau, Damian Patecki, points out that the main problem with the training of doctors is the deficiency of the legislator's prediction that the erstwhile Minister of Education and discipline could open a medical course even with the negative opinion of the Polish Accreditation Commission. He besides stresses that the current "power" between the Ministry of wellness and the Ministry of Education and discipline creates difficulties for the medical community and patients. Despite the change of government, the medical authority intends to proceed its efforts to improve the quality of doctor training.
