SINGAPORE- One of the best carriers in the world, Singapore Airlines (SQ), has confirmed its finalized schedule for the northern winter season, covering late October 2025 through March 2026. The update locks in flight frequencies and aircraft types across its global network, including Singapore Changi (SIN).

While tickets for this period were already available, many services were provisional. With this announcement, the carrier provides clarity on where and when it will operate, including significant seasonal changes and aircraft redeployments.

Singapore Airlines Winter Flights

Every year, Singapore Airlines adapts its winter schedule to match seasonal demand. This year’s changes are sharper than usual, reflecting competitive pressures as global capacity rebounds.

The airline has reduced services on several European and North Asian routes while redeploying capacity to the Southern Hemisphere and seasonal leisure markets.

By March 2026, Singapore Airlines will be operating more than 2,400 weekly passenger flights, its highest figure since the COVID-19 pandemic began. That represents around 91% of the monthly services flown by the combined SilkAir and Singapore Airlines network in early 2020, before SilkAir’s integration in May 2021, reported Mainly Miles.

European Network Reductions

Europe sees the most notable cuts. Seasonal low demand in November, February, and March means several destinations face trimmed schedules.

  • Barcelona (BCN): Nonstop flights suspended for a month from February 2026, while Singapore–Milan (MXP) services extend to Barcelona five times weekly.
  • London Heathrow (LHR): Temporary reduction from four to three daily flights between mid-January and late February.
  • Munich (MUC): Reduced to five weekly flights during February 2026, a 29% drop.
  • Paris (CDG): Frequency trimmed to 10 per week during certain periods, reducing overall seat capacity by 6% compared with last winter.
  • Rome (FCO): Service cut from four to three weekly flights for most of the season.

Adjustments in North Asia

North Asian markets also face reductions, as capacity shifts southward.

  • Beijing Capital (PEK): Dropping to two daily flights during certain weeks, with four-week suspension periods for select services.
  • Beijing Daxing (PKX): Entire route suspended for a month in early 2026, with aircraft downgauged to smaller Airbus A350 Medium Haul.
  • Osaka (KIX): Frequency reduced from three to two daily flights across several winter months.
  • Seoul (ICN): Dropping from four to three daily flights during the first quarter of 2026.
  • Hong Kong (HKG): Down to 35 weekly services, compared with 42 last winter. The A380 will not return this season.

Redeployments to Growth Markets

The freed-up capacity is being used strategically, focusing on regions with stronger demand during the Northern Hemisphere winter.

  • Auckland (AKL): Daily Airbus A380 introduced from January 2026, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER, maintaining overall seat capacity despite fewer flights.
  • Christchurch (CHC): Winter schedule increased to 11 weekly flights at peak.
  • Busan (PUS): Frequency lifted to daily by February 2026, a 75% increase in capacity.
  • Colombo (CMB): Service expanded from daily to 10 weekly flights from January 2026.
  • Taipei (TPE): Seasonal third daily service restored, using high-density A350 aircraft.
  • Sapporo (CTS): Winter-only route boosted to daily flights during December and January.
  • Tokyo Haneda (HND): Sixth daily flight reinstated during December peak season.
  • Frankfurt (FRA): Third daily service added six days per week, balancing aircraft changes on the route.

Fifth Freedom Operations

Singapore Airlines will continue operating three “fifth freedom” services during winter 2025/26, offering tickets solely between overseas cities:

  • Frankfurt (FRA) – New York JFK (JFK): Boeing 777-300ER
  • Milan (MXP) – Barcelona (BCN): Airbus A350 Long Haul
  • Tokyo Narita (NRT) – Los Angeles (LAX): Boeing 777-300ER

By contrast, flights between Johannesburg (JNB) and Cape Town (CPT) remain restricted to passengers traveling to or from Singapore.

Growth Remains on Track

Despite deeper cuts in Europe and North Asia, Singapore Airlines is still in expansion mode. By the end of March 2026, total weekly flights will surpass pre-pandemic levels for the first time since 2020.

The strategy shows a clear balance: tightening operations in underperforming regions while strengthening presence in high-demand leisure and Southern Hemisphere markets.

Schedules for the summer 2026 season remain provisional, with final details expected in early 2026, especially concerning aircraft types.
