What did the leaks reveal?
Television Republic published screenshots of the communicator on Monday, which, as journalists say, come from 3 independent sources. A photograph of Michał Marcinkiewicz appears in the interview and the question: “Do you have anything?”That's what the interviewer suggested having strong drugs.
The Interia Service points out, however, that it is not clear whether Marcinkiewicz participated in this exchange of messages. Trzaskowski's staff has already announced legal steps in connection with the violation of his individual property.
PiS reaction: ‘Trzaskowski must refer’
Politicians of Law and Justice organized a press conference before the Warsaw City Hall, demanding explanations from the president of Warsaw.
- "There was shocking information about 1 of Rafał Trzaskowski's very close associates. We want to hear his opinion on this” said Mr Zbigniew Bogucki.
- "People from the close vicinity of the president of Poland must be beyond any doubt. Questions about possible usage of drugs are investigated erstwhile accessing classified information." – added Paweł Szrot.
Bogacki besides stressed that it would not be adequate to dismiss the charges: "When we see this environment lying, we do not believe in the words of the PO politicians. We do not know how it was, but we want to find out – in the interest of Poles”.
Nitras case recalled
Anna Gembicka recalled earlier controversy with Sławomir Nitras, which was to say in 2008: “Drugs do not compromise PO”.
- "Warsaw City Hall financially supported psychoactive organisations. Will Nitras now besides say that it is 'just a private matter'?” – asked MP PiS.
What's next?
Marcinkiewicz announced the legal fight, but PiS expects the authoritative position of Trzaskowski himself. The case may affect the image of the Civic Platform on the eve of the election.
