The Israeli national safety minister Itamar Ben-Gwir presented to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the plan to detain boats sailing to Gaza as part of the Global Sumud Flotilla and “arrest” more than a 1000 civilians on board. Persons from over 70 countries, including parliamentarians, are to be imprisoned under harsh conditions as terrorists. In this group I, too, belong to the ten-man Polish fleet crew.
The same Ben-Gwir had previously argued – erstwhile a video showing a group rape of a Palestinian prisoner of war was leaked, made by Israeli soldiers – that in the case of "terrorists" all actions, including collective rape, are justified.
Thus, the Minister of State, with whom Poland maintains close diplomatic and commercial relations, from which it constantly buys weapons (in addition to the genocide in Gaza), threatens Polish citizens, including the Polish MP Franciszek Sterczewski from the ruling coalition, a multi-week imprisonment in torture camps, after which “we will request more attempts” to break the illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the Minister of abroad Affairs Radosław Sikorski makes available on X posts calling for Polish citizens, who knowingly go to dangerous areas of the world, to charge the costs of possible evacuation. He admits that there is simply a humanitarian disaster in Gaza, but he conveniently avoids indicating who led to this disaster. And he refuses to support, even symbolic, a peaceful humanitarian mission.
The crew of Global Sumud Flotilla are not terrorists, but participants and participants in a peaceful humanitarian mission aimed at delivering food and medicines to the Gaza Strip and beginning a sea humanitarian corridor. There's no weapons on our boats. We are not going to Israel, but to Palestine, a country recognised by most UN countries, including Poland. The detention and arrest of us in global waters or Palestinian waters by Israel would be a gross violation of global law. Piracy. An act of terrorism.
However, it seems that the Polish State intends to full accept this. Will he besides accept the threats of torture directed towards us? Will Radosław Sikorski say that we asked for it if we were group raped in an Israeli camp? Will Donald Tusk proceed to say that we have an work to support Israel?
More than a 1000 people from all over the planet hazard health, life and freedom to service the rulers, who can only afford to express their concern about what not only all human rights organizations, including the most crucial Israelis, but besides the global Association of Genocide Researchers, specify in this way. In the meantime, decision-makers can not only call genocide by name or even condemn Israel for war crimes, but even in support of Israel's adherence to global law and fundamental human rights. After all, he never did it – why should it be different now?
At this point, I would like to address straight to Minister Sikorski and Prime Minister Tusk, who late reminded us that “Poland is invariably on the side of Israel in the fight against terrorism”. Do you agree with the Israeli minister that I, your coalition MP and the remainder of Polish civilians from Global Sumud Flotilla are terrorists and deserve kidnapping, imprisonment and torture?
