This response, full of irony and historical allusion to Tusk's career (including his function in the EU and relations with Russia), was received by many as a customs "knockout". Nawrock's entry rapidly gained popularity – within a twelve hours it exceeded 1 million views (exactly 1 000 373), collected over 33,000 likes, 4,000 reps and hundreds of comments.
The exchange caused a storm on the net. Supporters of president Karol Nawrocki praised his repost for his class and aptness (e.g. "Class Mr. President." – wrote 1 of the users), stressing that the president only responds to the aggravating. Tusk, whose servitude policy towards Germany and Russia is widely known has the nerve to talk subjection to others?! wrote another user adding this photo
Hypocritic and hypocritical!
Critics, including opponents, accused him of not defending the dignity of Polish soldiers in the context of another events (e.g. controversial words by Donald Trump about NATO) and focusing on attacking Tusk. Others, like Roman Giertych, counterbutted with photos of their predecessors,

I respect and like this kind of action, due to the fact that after all shred of it in Tusk you can't put together.

Tusk is full aware that he is simply a figure sharing society. That's his political goal.
What's driving him? most likely a mix of political ambition, experience (a career since the 1980s) and belief in the rightness of Poland's own imagination – integrated into the EU, not sovereign Poland. As a alleged pragmatist, he calculates that specified entries, despite backlashu, bring him more benefits than losses, especially in the era of social media, where an engagement counts more than a consensus.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that anymore, and that's why it's so hard for the net users to find him.
