Polish drivers must prepare for a crucial change that will hit their wallets as early as September. After almost 2 decades without increases, the fees for mandatory method investigating of passenger vehicles will increase by 51 PLN. This information was confirmed by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Stanisław Bukowic, pointing out that the fresh rate for the review of the passenger car would be PLN 149. This long-awaited change by the owners of diagnostic stations, and at the same time worrying for millions of drivers, aims at realising the cost of reviews in the face of inflation and rising maintenance costs.
End of the era of inexpensive reviews. How much will we pay from September?
Since September of this year, a regular method survey of the passenger car, which has so far cost PLN 98, will charge the driver's budget the amount PLN 149. This means an increase of precisely 51 PLN. Deputy Minister Stanislaw Bukowic pointed out that the increase in fees would besides affect another categories of vehicles and their rates would be proportionally adjusted. This is the first specified change since 2004, which highlights the scale and hold in adapting prices to marketplace realities.
Why are fees rising? Ministry explains the reasons for the increase
The main reason for the increases is that the rates for method studies have remained unchanged since 2004. At that time, the average gross remuneration in Poland increased from little than PLN 2300 to about PLN 9,000, and inflation importantly affected the costs of conducting business activity. The Ministry of Infrastructure stresses that the aim is to keep a balance between the interests of entrepreneurs operating vehicle control stations and the interests of Polish drivers. Before the increase, Poland had any of the lowest review fees in Europe, and even after the change, the rate of PLN 149 will inactive be competitive compared to countries specified as Germany and Italy, remaining at Hungarian or Portuguese level.
New rules and security. What else is waiting for the drivers?
The increase in fees is not the only change. Ministry of Infrastructure plans a broader revision of the Road Traffic Law to sealing of the vehicle method test system and make consistent supervision of their implementation. Among the key innovations are:
- A fresh strategy of diagnostic training that will guarantee the cyclical improvement of their competences and qualifications to meet the challenges of modern automotive.
- Possibility of conducting a method test to 30 days before the deadline without shortening the validity of the next test. This is simply a applicable solution for those planning to leave within the review period.
- Implementation of the work to draw up photographic documentation during each method examination, which will increase transparency and reliability of the reviews.
- The systematic valorisation of method investigation fees, which is intended to prevent specified long periods without price changes in the future.
Better quality and prestige of the profession? position of diagnostic stations
The manufacture welcomes the upcoming changes. The president of the Polish Chamber of Vehicle Control Stations, Jolanta Źródowska, estimated that realising the fees for method investigation would contribute to improving their quality. Higher revenues will enable stations to modernise, buy modern diagnostic equipment and invest in development. In addition, raising the prestige of the profession of diagnosis is designed to encourage young people to choose this career path, which is crucial in the absence of generational change in this profession. The eventual nonsubjective is to increase safety on Polish roads by providing reliable and professional method reviews.
In summary, as of September, Polish drivers will face the increased costs of method studies, but this amendment is part of a broader plan of the Ministry of Infrastructure to modernise the vehicle control system, increase road safety and repair the fees that have remained frozen for years. fresh expenditure needs to be prepared, but besides higher standards of review.
