Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 16.04.2025):
- Russian attacks on the broad front between Pokrowski and Torecki continue. This time it was possible to enter the village of Sucha Balka.
- Russian forces went under Hryhorivka in the Siwierski section.
- On the course-sum front, the Russians continued the offensive towards Junakiwka, which is simply a logistics center north of Suma.
- The church is under attack in Gornal, around which about 300 Ukrainian soldiers are surrounded. Conversations about surrender were interrupted after Ukrainians shot their commander, willing to lay down their weapons.
- Volodymyr Zelenski applied for an extension of martial law for another 90 days after 9 May.
