The “Tarcza east” is an integrated engineering barrier, a solid battery, an anti-tank ditch, a reinforced hedgehog and a palisade, mine fields (and yet!), again anti-tank hedgehogs, “resistance nest”, swamp, afforestation, and further hiding for civilians. All this in the border lane, in the width – as the figure shows – about 2 km.
In the 50 km runway there will be an even deeper road ditch, “preparation for dam damage”, a place on the road and a bridge that can be blown up, a tower of detection system, posts from HESCO (i.e. reflection and defender posts, with thick walls, already tested in Iraq and Afghanistan), further conceal UBM, i.e. portable military structures, a detour with a cape and a material warehouse.
For this intent the troops will be prepared axes of road crossings, bridge constructions, reinforced parts of objects for the weight of war machines.
This is the final proof that Donald Tusk's government did not want to give Poland from Bug to Vistula, as Minister Mariusz Błaszczak argued during the election campaign. The Tarcza East inactive requires inter-ministerial arrangements, resolutions, but there is political determination.
What does this mean for Krynek, Dubicz Church, Białowieża and another border towns, which until late developed agritourism, due to the fact that a cycling road was created and more and more tourists from Europe came here for unique nature? What? from the Białowieża Forest, UNESCO facility? After all, the construction of via carpathia is simply a crucial burden for the region. Deputy Minister MON Cezary Tomczyk convinces that it depends on the military and that everything will take place in accordance with the law and respect for property.
The destiny inactive hasn't settled CPK. If you accept the logic of the war, which allows the demolition of the most beautiful and richest natural region of Poland, then the CPK can only be an costly mark of raids and may not be worth investing in it unless air defence batteries are there.
However, if you accept the logic of war and look at how Russia destroys Ukraine, how chooses targets, for example, in Kherson, the most urgent seems to be the construction of anti-missile systems and shelters which are simply not present in Poland. presently only a fewer percent of Polish residents can number on them. In Finland, almost 90% of the population has access not only to "replacements", but to the most actual shelters. In Helsinki alone there are 50 – large, hidden 30 meters underground.
So why a shield, not a shelter, erstwhile we've got 10 billion to spend? due to the fact that it's simpler, second it's more political. The construction of shelters – most likely in cities and towns, in the already built-up area, is logistics more complicated, requires cooperation with local governments, cooperatives. I want this were all the more so that building shelters would uncover even more clearly the absurdity of housing devoted to developers. Suddenly, it would turn out that the precedence is shelter, protection of the population, not private gain.
The construction of shelters is also, 1 must admit, more defet than the construction of a barrier on the border – here they are pushed, scared, looking for shelter underground. The construction of military facilities in a sparsely populated area, which has already experienced disrespect, depravity, destruction, whose economy is already falling due to the fact that it has been dependent on the 3rd year of the military station there, is much simpler. It is besides a task for which money will be available in Europe.
The shield is simply a political and military demonstration of strength and determination. It's expected to scare you. This was the main function of the Chinese wall, and as it turned out, the Maginot Line. This is confirmed by further statements by politicians who hope that no troops on this border will always arrive.
This is not how I imagined building a safe country. I do not know whether a conventional consequence to hybrid threats can increase our safety. I uncertainty it. But possibly there's nothing more to do now than show an armed facade.
