‘They have given us precious and top promises,
that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature,
After you've escaped from the corruption of lust in the world“
Our life is short, it is only a time of trial in which our eternity is determined. It will be either happy or unhappy forever. The unfortunate future, or eternal destruction, awaits those who, due to pride and unbelief, reject salvation in Jesus Christ. In Him God gave us the top gift—that through Him we might receive a fresh nature! Therefore, we must reject this nature, which is tainted with first sin and in which our human spirit is clothed. For this reason, our spiritual nature has been obscured above all, so that reason has difficulty in discerning the truth, will is inclined toward evil, and heart is filled lustwhich is in union with the spirit of the world, pushing mankind to corruption and destruction--the temporal and eternal. How can we avoid this destruction? By religion we must accept the Savior Jesus Christ. Then it applies to us: "To all those who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God--who were not born with lust body, neither by the will of a husband, but by God” (see Jn 1, 12). So, accepting Christ, we already receive the Divine nature, though we inactive have the first sin. Being a associate in God's nature is not only a promise, but besides a gift--a precious and immensely large gift. Being a associate in the nature of God here on earth and having this nature for all eternity (if we stay faithful to death) is simply a gift beyond all gifts. Compared to him, all the treasures of this planet are just garbage. But this precious treasure, as the Scriptures say, we carry in fragile vesselsSo no 1 can boast. We carry it in the vessels of our corrupt human nature, which drags us down through lust, pride, and disbelief. The sin of unbelief is in fact turning distant from God or direct rebellion against Him. Similarly, God was opposed by the Devil, whose poisoned spiritual seed (the firstborn sin) is within us. We are drawn where his father is—the spirit of lies, or eternal destruction. Therefore, we must deny ourselves, patiently accept the crucifixion of our will with God’s will, and follow Jesus in a safe way to eternal happiness.
Hebrews, chapter 11, peculiarly speaks of applicable faith, to our encouragement. Those who lived by religion and went through hard trials did not waver in faith, but believed in God and his promises.
Examples of Faith
1. Hebrews 11 is 1 of the chief places in the Bible where religion is said. Read this chapter and item what religion has done.
Which 1 of these things do you consider the most important?
Why?
GOD’S BENEFITS
2. Think of a peculiar situation where individual promised you something. erstwhile you wondered if this individual would keep your promise, what criteria did you follow to measure it?
Did that individual keep her promise?
How did this affect your religion in his future promises?
3. Your heavenly Father besides makes promises to you. What does the Bible say about God’s words?
1 Kings 8,56
Ps 89.35
Iz 55,11
2 P 1.4
4. Why are God’s promises credible?
Faith is always based on what God has said or promised. erstwhile an honest man says something, he does it – after the promise comes action. The same is actual of God: erstwhile he wants to do something, he always first speaks of it in his Word.
