“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God,

to exalt you at the right time.

Throw all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”

The apostle Peter calls us to root before God. What will this humiliation do? First, he will give us the light of cognition that God gives. Otherwise, this cognition is blocked by our self-centered nature, which the Scriptures call an "old man," and we do not even realize. Humility It's true. Humility It is liberation from the power of our sovereignty, pride, and unwillingness to admit our own weaknesses and mistakes. This selfish sovereignty does not let God to act through us, although it would bring the top benefits – not only spiritual and not only to others, but above all to ourselves.

The Bible says: "God opposes the proud, and gives grace to the humble." Humiliation before God, from whom we have received our existence and all the good that is in us and that we have done, is not a humiliation. It is simply designation of reality, or fact about ourselves. We will attain this attitude of humility in the truth, especially in our interior prayer under the cross of Christ. Without actual prayer, we will waste our lives in delusions. At the time of our death, we won't have time to repent and fix what we neglected. But if we keep at least a small humility, there is hope that in the final test, at the minute of transition to eternity, we will humbly accept grace to at least be saved, even if in specified a case we gotta reckon with long purgatory, and this is not trivial. Why? due to the fact that we have neglected the time of purification by actual humiliation, or walking in truth. In the end, we are looking for a final exaltation. The exaltation here, in life, has small meaning and will shortly pass away.

Regarding the worries, problems, and crosses we encounter all day, the apostle counsels us to trust in God and to entrust all our problems to him. With Christ and in Christ. We must experience our co-cruciation with Christ all day, not just helpless against our problem. This will besides crucify our old man, or our corrupt nature, who secretly seeks his own glory in everything and boycotts God or pushes back Go to the background.

Jesus must truly be the Lord of our lives. We must talk to him in prayer about our problems, seeking his will. And if He truly is our Lord, we will not live our lives in vain, but fruitfully, both in the present and above all in eternity.
