Border defender Officers from Braniewo Station arrested Members of a criminal group that has been active in illegal bringing foreigners to Poland for a long time. As part of an investigation supervised by the Gdańsk-Śródmieście territory Prosecutor's Office, 3 Ukrainian citizens suspected of organising illegal border crossing and falsifying grounds for legalization of their stay were detained. The group operated mainly in Pomerania and Podkarpacie, utilizing legal tools for criminal purposes.

In Gdynia, officers from Braniewa, supported by the Operations and Investigation Board of the office of the Border defender and the Marine Branch of the SG, stopped the matrimony of Ukrainian citizens – 44-year-old male and 42-year-old female. At the same time, in Przemyśl, officers of the Bieszczady Border defender Branch detained a 51-year-old Ukrainian linked to the group's illegal activities. The full operation was conducted simultaneously and safely, the detainees were not resisting.

Cell phones, retention media, payment cards and crucial amounts of cash were secured during the search. Over 22 1000 zlotys were found, nearly 4.3 1000 dollars and nearly 1 1000 euros. An active cryptocurrency account with over $6.3 1000 was discovered on 1 computer. Investigators fishy that it was cryptocurrency that was utilized to accept part of the fees from foreigners who utilized illegal group services.

As the prosecution established, criminals registered fictional companies in Poland and then applied to the labour offices for registration of declarations of intent to entrust work to foreigners. These papers allowed for obtaining visas and legal entry into Poland, although the employment offered did not exist. As a result, at least 134 Belarusian citizens crossed the border illegally.

The court responded to the prosecutor's request and applied temporary detention to all 3 suspects for 3 months. As the Border defender informs, the investigation continues, and officers do not regulation out further detentions.
