On the night of 22 to 23 September Russia attacked Ukraine with 161 drones. Poland has launched safety procedures and residents of Lublin Voivodeship have received an RCB alert. The military has put the air defence and radio-location on alert. For Poles, this means real protection of the east border against the effects of Russian aggression.
Russian attack launched Polish procedures
Operations Command of Armed Forces Types reported that through the Air Operations Center, they have activated forces and resources at its disposal. Ground air defence and radio-location systems have reached their readiness. The military monitored the situation and declared its ability to respond immediately.
The actions were preventive. No information was given about the breach of Polish airspace. This is an crucial distinction: the state did not declare that Poland was attacked, but prepared a defence in case Russian air raid measures created a threat on our side of the border.
The government safety Centre alert went to the recipients in Lublin Voivodeship. The communication informed about the Russian air attack on Ukraine, monitoring the situation and operation of Polish aviation in the space of the Republic. The residents were expected to receive further information. The RCB publishes current informing messages on its authoritative website.
The Polish consequence includes respective successive actions. Radars detect and track objects, command evaluates their path, and defence units stay ready to execute an order. The efficient chain of decisions is as large as the equipment itself. With the threat of airborne travel, the time is counted in minutes, so messages to the population must be fast and unambiguous.
161 drones in 1 night
According to data from the Ukrainian Air Force, quoted this morning on September 23, Russia utilized 161 unmanneds of various types, including jet machines. The Ukrainian side reported that the air defence shot down or disrupted 122 targets. These numbers came from a message from the Ukrainian army and should be treated as data of the organization active in the war.
The scale of the raid shows how Russia operates. A large number of drones are expected to burden anti-aircraft defence and keep the population under constant pressure. erstwhile attacks include the western part of Ukraine, the threat ceases to be a distant problem. Any navigational error, failure or change of flight way can force the reaction of Polish services.
Eastern border requires constant cover
A day earlier, the Ministry of abroad Affairs informed that six border crossings in Lublin and Podkarpackie voivodships remained on advanced alert. There are limited numbers of people and vehicles who may be at the crossing at the same time, and military presence is expected to reduce consequence times. Polish services strengthen the border with UkraineBecause the war is coming closer to the territory of the Republic.
That's no reason to panic. This is simply a reason to require efficient radar, ready-to-use air defense, clear alerts and fast information circulation. The NSA has already warned against the threat to aid routes to Ukraine. Russia is checking the resilience of the countries of the region with regularity of strikes and pressures exerted right at their borders.
For Poland, the rate is specific: the safety of residents of east voivodships, the inviolability of airspace and the credibility of the army. Ukraine's aid in defending against Russian aggression besides serves the Polish interest, but does not release Warsaw from hard guarding its own territory. Preparedness must be a permanent state capacity, not a reaction only triggered after the alarm.
