On Sunday 4 October, the Government safety Center sent an alert to residents of Lublin and Podkarpackie provinces in connection with the Russian air attack on Ukraine. In Polish airspace, the air force of the Polish Armed Forces operates. For residents this means the request to follow authoritative messages and stay calm.
RCB Alert in Lublin and Podkarpacie
The informing was sent to residents of 2 voivodships located on the east border of Poland. The RCB informed about the Russian air attack on Ukraine and the actions of Polish military aviation in the space of the Republic. The situation is being monitored.
The Communication is practical. People in Lublin and Podkarpacie should follow RCB messages, troops and local services. You should not trust on untested recordings and entries circulating on social media. During the information tension, a false message can origin chaos faster than a real threat.
Polish aviation responds to Russian attack
Operation of military aircraft over Poland is an action to defend Polish airspace. The alert itself does not mean that there has been an attack on the territory of the Republic. The communication does not mention the breach of the state border or the direct threat to residents.
Similar procedures were already launched with earlier Russian strikes. At the end of September, Polish fighters were besides picked up, and residents of east regions received an RCB alert. The repetitiveness of these events shows that the war going on abroad has a direct impact on the regular functioning of Polish services and civilians.
The safety of the Polish sky is at stake
Russia is liable for the emergency which forces Poland to regularly rise its readiness. The state has a work to respond early, to inform citizens efficiently and to keep the military ready. There's no place for a political spectacle or a sedative. What counts is effective control of the sky and clear flow of information.
Earlier alert for 49 counties and cities of Lublin and Podkarpacia recalls how wide the area could cover the consequence of the services. Today's informing shows one more time the price of Poland's position on the east flank of NATO. For Poles, simple safety is at stake: certainty that the threat will be detected early enough, and the state will give circumstantial instructions to citizens.
Until the release of the next communication, residents of both voivodships should stay calm, have a telephone at hand and usage authoritative sources. Russian threat must not be underestimated. Nor should Moscow be helped to spread panic.
