Riyadh Air to Offer fresh Flat-Bed Business Class on 787s

RIYADH- Saudi Arabia’s newest carrier, Riyadh Air (RX), set to launch in 2025, has unveiled its innovative cabin interiors for its Boeing 787-9 fleet.

The airline, positioned as the world’s first digital-native carrier, will feature Safran Unity seats in Business Elite and Business class configured in a 1-2-1 layout.

The aircraft will accommodate 290 passengers across three cabins, including 4 Business Elite seats, 24 Business class seats, 39 Premium Economy seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, and 223 Economy seats arranged in a 3-3-3 layout.

All cabins will feature large 4K OLED entertainment screens, with Business Elite boasting 32-inch screens – the largest in any business class.

Riyadh Air’s cabin design philosophy blends intelligent design with ergonomic comfort and thoughtful details. The interiors feature a distinctive color palette including dark indigo, mocha, skyline blue, sunset peach, and lavender tones that reflect Saudi heritage while delivering a modern luxury experience.

The premium cabins showcase Mocha Gold and veined stone accents that offer elegant contrast to rich purple textures. Business Elite and Business class seats feature 78-inch fully flat beds with 22.5-inch width, 52-inch-high privacy walls, and sliding doors. The center front seats in Business Elite can even be converted into a double bed.

Industry-Leading Technology Integration

As a digital-native airline, Riyadh Air is incorporating cutting-edge technology throughout the passenger experience. All loyalty program members will enjoy free high-speed Viasat Wi-Fi available from gate to gate (where permitted), enabling seamless streaming, web browsing, and gaming.

The entertainment systems feature some of the largest touchscreens in the industry, with 4K OLED technology across all cabins. Business Elite and Business classes will feature a groundbreaking audio collaboration with French innovator Devialet, embedding high-fidelity speakers directly into seat headrests, eliminating the need for headphones.

The Business Elite and Business seats utilize the Safran Unity seat model with identical specifications: 22.5-inch width, 45-inch pitch, and 78-inch bed length. Each seat comes equipped with A/C power outlets and multiple USB charging ports.

Premium Economy features Recaro PL3530 seats with 19.2-inch width and a generous 38-inch pitch, while Economy offers Recaro R3 seats with 17.2-inch width and 31-inch pitch. Every seat throughout the aircraft includes USB-C charging capabilities to keep passengers connected.
