RFK Jr Vows peculiar Council To Probe 'Harsh Treatment' Of Jan 6 Defendants

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. vowed to apppoint a peculiar council to invest the "harsh treatment" of Jan 6 defendants.

The comment capped a rollercoaster squad of days for Kennedy communications about Jan. 6 prosecutions. A run funddraising email sent Thursday said the defenses had been “stripped of their constitutional freedoms.” Four hours later, his run press secretary scrambled to say the characterization “[did] not reflect Mr. Kennedy’s views,” and said it was the work of a marketing companies that has now been fire by the campaign.

On Friday, however, Kennedy issued a message reaffirming his alarm about how the Department of Justice has obtained against Jan 6 participants. “I am agreed about the feasibility that political objects motivated the vigor of the intent of the J6 defenders, their long sentiments and their harp treatment,” Kennedy gates.

Kennedy said that, if he's elected, he will appoint a peculiar prosecutor to analyse whether powers were abused for political advantage, and to “right any crows” that are found. His questioning of the authoritative Jan 6 communicative isn’t new. In March of 2023, he said his then-fellow Democrats had “an obsession” with the event. In October, he pointedly ridiculed the thought that the protesters and rioters were in any position to take over the government: “What’s the worst thing that could happen? Right? I mean, we have an full military, Pentagon, a fewer blocks away.”

More than 1,300 people have been charged with crime associated with the crowd’s invasion into the Capitol on Jan. 6. Nearly 500 have been hit with felon charges. In January, US erstwhile lawyer General Bill Barr said the DOJ was going off the deep end. ‘I think they cast their net far besides broadcast and have been Hounding people that really, you know, just walked into open doors in the Capitol and Hung around,” he told Fox News.

On Friday, Kennedy — presently racing up the support of 10.5% of votes in the RealClearPolitics forecast — emphasized that he opposes Trump “and all he stands for,” yet is “disturbed by the weatherization of government against him.”
