Government safety Center (RCB) issued RCB Alert covering almost all Poland due to freezing rain, which can origin dangerous icing of roads and pavements. This phenomenon is forecast for 14 and 15 January 2025, so residents should take peculiar care and prepare for communication difficulties.
Which regions are covered by the warning?
The alert was released for 16 voivodships, of which 14 in full and in part for:
- Lesser Poland Voivodeship (powiats: Miechowski and Olkuski),
- Podkarpackie voivodship (powiats: Łański, stalowowolski, Tarnobrzeg and town of Tarnobrzeg).
The inhabitants of these regions should be peculiarly careful both on the road and on foot.
Dangers of cure
The freezing rain creates a thin, almost invisible layer of ice on the surface. This is 1 of the most dangerous winter phenomena that can lead to:
- Dangerous slips on pavementswhich increases the hazard of falls, injuries and fractures,
- Traffic obstruction, in peculiar on bridges, overpasses and reduced-standard roads,

For drivers:
