DOHA- Qatar Airways (QR) and Philippine Airlines (PR) have launched daily nonstop flights between Manila (MNL) and Doha (DOH), strengthening travel ties. This strategic codeshare partnership enhances connectivity and offers seamless travel options for global passengers.

The new service, celebrated at Hamad International Airport (DOH), leverages the strengths of both airlines to boost the Philippines-Qatar air travel market. Passengers gain access to over 170 destinations through Doha’s world-class hub.

The inaugural flight was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Hamad International Airport (DOH), attended by senior executives, including Philippine Airlines President Richard Nuttall, EVP Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez and Qatar Airways CCO Thierry Antinori.

Both airlines emphasized the importance of this alliance in unlocking new opportunities for passengers across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas.

Qatar Airways CCO Mr. Antinori noted that the new codeshare represents “a strong beginning to a partnership that will boost connectivity and customer experience.”

The service leverages Doha’s strategic position and world-class transit infrastructure to offer seamless travel, especially for passengers connecting from markets such as the United States (JFK), the United Kingdom (LHR), Spain (MAD), and Brazil (GRU).

Mr. Nuttall of Philippine Airlines highlighted that the collaboration strengthens their position in the growing Philippines-Qatar travel corridor.

He added that the partnership allows both airlines to maximize fleet efficiency, share resources, and expand market reach while improving passenger convenience through integrated schedules and check-ins.

Flight Operations

Philippine Airlines will operate the Manila–Doha service using the Airbus A330-300 in a dual-class layout. The aircraft features 18 flat-bed seats in Business Class and 341 seats in Economy Class, designed for long-haul passenger comfort.

Flights will run daily under the codes QR4946/PR684 from Manila and QR4947/PR685 from Doha.
