The German portal nuis.de dealt with the case of an illegal immigrant, Mahamada A., an Iraqi who pushed under a speeding train Ukrainian Liana K. at Fiedland station in Lower Saxony. Here is simply a passage:
"Let's take a closer look at the issue: Muhammad A. entered the national Republic of Germany on 13 August 2022, coming from Poland for always open borders of Germany, where he was checked by the police at the main station in Brunswick. He applied for asylum, which is highly easy in Germany, due to the fact that all he had to do was say, "I want asylum." 2 magic words that everyone, even if they don't talk German, learns by heart in 5 minutes. So if a foreigner comes to Germany without a passport, money and residence licence (but always with a mobile phone) and is checked by the police at any point, he can apply for asylum straight at the police – then take him to the nearest reception centre, where helpful staff will submit a formal application to the national Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). It's so simple in bureaucratic Germany, where all licence to build a private home lasts a year. This alone is simply a tiny lottery win for refugees, as the future asylum seeker presently receives around EUR 200 per period plus accommodation, board and benefits in kind (clothes, hygiene articles, medical care, tickets and vouchers).
Returning to Muhammad A.: 5 months later, in December 2022, an Iraqi asylum application was rejected as inadmissible and his deportation to Lithuania was ordered (where he first applied for asylum). But specified refusal has absolutely no meaning in Germany, and surely not that the asylum seeker would gotta leave the country now. After all, there is an asylum industry. And immediately took action by a lawyer who, due to the fact that Muhammad A. has no money, went to court against his deportation at the taxpayer's expense.
To make certain Muhammad A. could truly stay in Germany, his lawyers launched dense cannons: he was gay, raped in Kibati camp in Congo, beaten by Lithuanian police and held in solitary confinement there for a month. Once, in April 2024, he embraced a woman's arm, unscrewed his pants, and removed his penis, which the court compassionately regarded as a "exhibitive act" (not as sexual harassment within the meaning of § 184i StGB, for which he would endanger to punish 2 years in prison). For this, he was sentenced to a fine of EUR 600, which he was incapable to pay, so he spent 20 days in prison, but which had absolutely no impact on his asylum seeker status.
It was only at the beginning of this year, 3 years after an illegal Iraqi arrived in Germany, that something happened again. In February, a suit by Muhammad A. lawyers against the rejection of his asylum application was yet rejected and in March his deportation was ordered back to Lithuania. However, the Iraqi was not deported. Why? First due to the fact that He was temporarily hiding under respective aliases and the authorities couldn't find him.. Secondly, because, after the immigration office had learned of his detention for exhibitionism in the meantime, a request for detention was made but the Hannover territory Court rejected the decision to apply the detention measurement on 17 July 2025. Reason: The reason for the detention due to the ‘significant hazard of escape’ has not been sufficiently explained and Muhammad A. has not been given a deadline to leave the country.
Three and a half weeks later Muhammad A. pushed Liana K. under a train passing a train at Friedland station, killing her.
After the Göttinga police, but besides the German Press Agency and many newspapers reported that Liana K. died in an accident, on August 29 everything changed suddenly. due to the fact that then the prosecution in Göttinga abruptly found out that Liana K. was deliberately pushed under a train, and the perpetrator was an Iraqi who was denied asylum and who should have been deported long ago. And precisely the minute it was learned, all the media immediately learned something else: that the perpetrator is mentally ill. Almost triumphantly, “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” writes: “There is no misfortune? They say a mentally sick man pushed a girl under a train. "Schizophrenia paranoid" is simply a good way to live with her!
The same day in the German mainstream media there was a collective sigh of relief, which sounded about like this: Uff, was close! But a mentally sick individual who pushes individual under a train in a state of intellectual danger, and now he is in a psychiatric ward, where he is being treated with sensitivity – it is easy to live with. This is simply a much better communicative than the communicative of a tiny arabian asylum-seeker who should have been deported long ago, but this was not due to the failure of the authorities. From the point of view of the media, this meant that the murders of asylum seekers, especially those from the arabian world, were frequently pushed to the background.
And then it was even better: at the conclusion of the press release, in which the sad communicative about Muhammad A. and the pathetic failure of the authorities was presented in all its pathetic details in front of the world, the liable prosecutor declared with a speech of conviction: “The suspect displayed various intellectual abnormalities on the day of the crime. He has already been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in the past."
Good shot! Right in the mediate of a jackpot! There's nothing better than this! Now we've reached deep into the sphere of intellectual illness, now we're dealing with the queen of intellectual illness, a mysterious ailment that a average individual has no thought of which has nothing to do with, and whose name frequently cannot even talk correctly.
Now everything changes in 1 move. Before we heard: Iraqis, asylum seekers, Muslims, rejected, exhibitionists, forced to leave the country, failure of authorities, killing. Now we hear intellectual abnormalities, paranoia, schizophrenia, delusions, failure of reality, psychosis, hallucinations, manic episodes, depressive episodes, severe intellectual disorders, chronic intellectual illness and personality disorder. In the past, they were guilty, guilty, and defeated – now there is simply a severely sick individual who is most likely incapable to feel guilty and may not be liable for Liana K. being dead. So this death would be a fate, an unfortunate accident, a terrible misfortune, surely – but caused by a madman.
And so this is simply a tragic case that unfortunately failed to prevent. A tragic case for which no 1 is guilty now – neither the prosecution, nor the courts, nor the immigration office, nor the lawyers who so bravely fought for Muhammad A.'s right to remain. No PR agency, no spin doctor, no professional problem solving specialist came up with a better idea."
