In the face of the threat of Polish animal breeding, by the foot-and-mouth spreading in Germany, representatives of the Confederation – Deputy Marshal of the Polish Parliament Krzysztof Bosak, and associate of the Polish Parliament Przemysław Wipler spoke.
Marshal Bosak listed foot-and-mouth illness as another of the many threats to which Polish farmers are exposed. He recalled that Germany faced foot-and-mouth illness last 37 years, and Poland was safe from foot-and-mouth illness for the last 50 years.
– If we import meat on a large scale and import live animals, we can besides bring diseases. Food autonomy fosters a weaker spread of diseases," said Krzysztof Bosak.
Marshal Bosak warned that, according to the intervention of the Confederate associate Krzysztof Mulawa, the checks on imports on the Polish-German border are of the character of appearance and do not defend us from the influx of infected animals.

“Polish animal breeders estimation that as many as 20,000 farms may fall if foot-and-mouth illness enters Poland,” said Przemysław Wipler. The Confederate associate believes that specified a “catastrophe” would be beneficial to global companies.
Confederate representatives demanded that the state prevent the epidemic as long as possible. They consider that the border must be sealed for this purpose, and intensive animal and animal products should be checked which may be infected.
