The fact That Survived: A ceremony Celebration of the Victims of the Katyn Crime

On September 17, a ceremony ceremony of the remains of victims murdered in Katyn took place in the Polish Army Department in Warsaw. The ceremony was attended by the president of the Republic of Poland Karol Nawrocki.

Also present were representatives of many state formations, including Chief Border defender Gen. Dyw. SG Robert Bagan, who represented the Border Guard. The devotion with the military ceremony was led by the bishop of the Polish Army Wiesław Lechowicz. The honorary value at the urns with the victims' ashes was performed by, among others, Border defender officers. The ceremony was besides attended by the flag of this formation, paying tribute to the murdered.

During the ceremony president Karol Nawrocki recalled that the Katyn genocide was not only a violent act of violence, but a planned effort to annihilate Polish identity:

“The Katyn genocide was eager to ban our national soul, our elites, officers, reserve officers, police officers, soldiers, prison service officers and the border defender corps. It was an effort to erase the Republic forever from the map of Europe and the world. Thanks to specified ceremonies as today's and cognition provided by the Institute of National Memory, thanks to the Katyn Families, many liable teachers and courageous students – the fact about Katyn survived.”

He besides pointed out that although the russian aggression against Poland and russian crimes in Poles has passed many years, the planet inactive makes the same mistakes:

"Until recently, the planet has repeated and continues to repeat the same mistakes, succumbing to the ideology of communist and russian disinformation, hoping to tame the russian or post-Soviet beast."

The president pointed out that over the next decades many did not realize the nature of this threat:

"It has not worked for decades. So many generations are incorrect about the russian essence and communist ideology.”

And he added with power:

“We cannot afford that.”

He besides stressed that today's celebration carries an crucial message:

"Today's event, despite its tragic pronunciation, besides presents concrete tasks for us: we must not be deceived by russian ideology and misinformation. We cannot believe that anything another than the force: the strength of the Polish armed forces, the Polish soldier, our alliances, us – as a national community – can halt events specified as those that happened during the Second War.”

The ceremony with the participation of the head of state, representatives of the Polish Army, Border defender and Katyń families was not only an act of remembrance, but besides a clear reminder that historical fact and national sovereignty are not given erstwhile and for all. Urns with the ashes of the murdered rested in the undergrounds of the Polish Army Field Department, becoming a symbol of permanent memory and informing against repeating mistakes of the past.
