On 30 December 2024, in the Polish Parliament, the pagan Hanukkah will ignite. The celebration organized by the rabbi from the Chabad Lubavich sect became the subject of many controversy and protests. This year, a protest under the Polish Parliament was held under the motto “Here is Poland, not Polin”, organized by the Confederation of the Polish Crown. The protest was attended by well-known figures of the political scene, including Euro MP Grzegorz Braun and MPs Roman Fritz and Włodzimierz Skalik. Grzegorz Braun, known for his critical approach to the tradition of lighting Chanukian candlesticks in the Sejm, spoke, presenting his position in sharp words.
“According to the Talmudists, the function of non-Jewish is to serve. This is not the discovery of Rabbi Schneerson and his associates. MP Roman Fritz besides critically referred to the practice of lighting Khanucan candlesticks in public places around the world. History of protests
The lighting of Khanuk candles in the Polish Parliament has a long tradition, but in fresh years this ceremony has been subject to criticism from any political groups. A year ago, Grzegorz Braun symbolically extinguished the candlestick with a fire extinguisher during the ceremony, which sparked stormy reactions in the media. Today, due to the crimes committed by peddled terrorists in the Gaza Strip and in Palestine, any reasoning individual should avoid specified encounters with criminals.
