Almost PLN 6 billion – this is the amount Poland has to pay Pfizer. This is the punishment for failing to receive more than 60 million vaccines against COVID19. Vaccines that have not been produced. The Brussels court ruled that Poland had broken the contract by ordering and then withdrawing from the payment. We lost. The failure to the European court is no longer an exotic event in Poland. Exotic was only what happened later.
Since the same court requested by Pfizer, he issued a warrant to safe the penalty. This is simply a average procedure. However, this money was not frozen to the contracting authority, the Ministry of Health, but to the Polish Air Navigation Agency. The aim became an institution that was never a organization to this conflict.
Her tasks begin and end with the supervision of air traffic safety over the Polish sky. As a result, this strategical agency for all of us has been cut off from the funds overnight. But before explaining why this happened, let us first see what happened with these vaccines and who ordered them.
When the pandemic broke out, the European Commission felt that it was pointless for each country to individually negociate terms of cooperation with large Pharma, due to the fact that instead, it could, on behalf of all the associate States of the European Union, be able to hold specified talks and indeed it did.
To this end, a peculiar steering board was established. It consisted of 27 members, 1 typical from each country. They were headed by Ursula von der Leyen – at this point we are getting interesting.

Because the European Commission has not yet revealed precisely who was in this group. This information has been classified so that the pharmaceutical lobby cannot exert pressure.
However, thanks to the work of investigative journalists, 7 people were identified. Among them was Richard Bergström. He worked for companies like Roche and Novartis for years. They are 1 of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. Mr Richard was besides manager of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical manufacture (EFPIA) for 5 years. We can find interesting information on their website.

The passage marked in yellow is the recognition number that was given to them in the Transparency Register. This is simply a list of organisations and individuals who are trying to influence ]]>decisions taken by European officials and politicians]]>. simply put, the organization is officially lobbying – in this case they do so in the interests of pharmaceutical companies.
So we can realize the scale of this absurdity. The European Commission is setting up a peculiar board, secreting the names of its members, explaining that it is simply a protection against the influence of lobbyists, and then appointing to that body a individual who for 5 years was the manager of an organization whose sole intent was lobbying.

There was more absurd. During the pandemic, Pfizer's president Albert Bourla in an interview with "The fresh York Times" said that a text was exchanged with Ursula von der Leyen for respective months. As he himself acknowledged, direct contact was intended to facilitate negotiations on the supply of vaccines.
When journalists citing EU government asked the European Commission to share the content of these messages, they heard that this was impossible, due to the fact that first: Ursula von der Leyen does not want it, and second, even if she wanted it, it cannot, due to the fact that these texts are not there – they have been deleted and the telephone formatted and recycled.
The case went to the Court of Justice, which ruled that the European Commission had broken the law without archiving these texts, due to the fact that they had to be treated as authoritative documents, but besides stressed that their removal alone was not evidence of corruption.
That's what Ursula von der Leyen said, explaining to all of us that her conversations were only about logistical issues and she doesn't realize what this affair is about. So I'd like to ask you an open question now, if these were just logistics talks, why would she delete them? I don't know what the answer is, but I know how many vaccines were purchased at the time. The following table on orders from individual producers until 2021. It may be a coincidence, but almost 50% of all orders were placed in only 1 company. It was Pfizer.
